April 25-26, 2015

Location:
Boat House Restaurant
3807 Macklem St
Niagara Falls, ON L2G 6C8

COST
$30 - NAF Members, $40 - Non-NAF members (with $10 going towards NAF membership sign-up).

Q'ermitt Bowl
A Fresh Start to a Classic Tournament.
The Q'ermitt Bowl (formally the Challenge of Q'ermitt ) is a rebirth of the Tournament in the new location of Niagara Falls.

Just as it has always been all games are played on custom made boards/pitches each with their own individual unique rules, weather tables and kick off tables.

The Q'ermitt Bowl does have a few minor changes from it's former glory. The tournament is a resurrection style tournament again, plus there will be changes listed below regarding team improvements.

Tournament:
5 games of Blood Bowl played over two days (3 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday) Swiss-style match-ups after game 1. Tournament is resurrection.
Tournament points are W/T/L - 3/1/0.
We will be using the CRP rules along with the 3 additional NAF approved teams.

Saturday
Registration: 9:00am - 9:30am

Game 1: 9:45am - 11:45pm
Lunch: 11:45pm - 12:45pm
Game 2: 12:45pm - 2:45pm
Break: 2:45pm - 3:15pm
Game 3: 3:15pm - 5:15pm

Sunday
Game 4: 10:00am - 12:00pm
Lunch: 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Game 5: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Awards: 3:30pm - 4:30pm

TEAM BUILD
Coaches will have 1,000,000 gold crowns with which to build a "rookie" team. Each coach must purchase a minimum of 11 players. You may also purchase re-rolls, fan factor, assistant coaches, cheerleaders and apothecaries. No skills or stat increases of any kind may be purchased.

INDUCEMENTS
Goblins may purchase Bribes for 50k each, and Halflings may purchase the Halfling Master Chef for 100k, both teams must still have a minimum of 11 players.
No inducements may be purchased for all other teams.

TEAM IMPROVEMENTS
Every team will get an extra allotment of TV to spend towards skills before game 1 based on tier.
A max of 1 of each skill type (example Block, Dodge, Tackle etc…)may be selected during this phase.

Tier 1 (40K) includes; Amazons, Chaos Dwarves, Dwarves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Necromantic, Norse, Orcs, Skaven, Undead, Wood Elves
Tier 2 (60K) includes; Chaos, Chaos Pact, High Elves, Elves, Humans, Khemri, Nurgle, Slann
Tier 3 (80K) includes; Halflings, Goblins, Ogres, Vampires, Underworld

TEAM IMPROVEMENTS:
After each round teams will draw 2,3 or 4 (depending on the Tier they are in) chits from the board/pitch they just played on. Depending on the Race of the Board/Pitch determines the Skill Types Available to learn. For example on the Dwarf Pitch 4 chits of each General, Strength, and Passing , for a total of 12 chits will be available for drawing. (Agility and Mutation skills can not be learned on the Dwarf Pitch because those skills can not be learned on a Normal Roll for a Dwarf team). Additionally 4 Stat Upgrade chits can also be added to the bag of Skill chits. 1 Gold chit:+1 Strength, 1 Silver chit:+1 Agility, 2 Bronze chits: +1 Movement or +1 Armor Value.

Tier 1 teams will draw 2 chits and record the results (for example 1 Passing and 1 General)
Tier 2 teams will draw 3 chits and record a chosen 2 of the 3.
Tier 3 teams will draw 4 chits and record a chosen 2 of the 4.

A skill chit can be handed in for that skill type to any player on your team immediately . For example a General Skill chit can give a Skaven lineman Block or any other General Skill, but it could not be given to the Rat Ogre as it needs a Doubles roll to use General Skills. Any Skill chits not redeemed right away can be banked for future use.
Any 2 Skill chits of the same type can be handed in together at once to give a player a that Skill type that they would normally need on a Doubles Roll. If for example a General Skill chit is banked after the 1st game and a 2nd General Skill chit is acquired after the 2nd game a Coach could give that Rat Ogre Block (as it uses both General Skill chits for it's one General Skill)

After Game 4 ONLY*** Any non usable Skill chits (General or Passing Skill chit on a Halfling team for example) can be traded to any player for a Skill Type they can normally use on a Normal Roll (Agility on Halfling or Strength on Treemen)

Is there a skill limit on creation or with the skill chits?
Clan_Skaven - Feb 15, 2015 - 12:04 AM
Post subject:
On creation based on your team's tier you can buy skills, but no more than one of each kind, so you can have 1 Block, but not 2 Blocks.

From Skill Chits you can duplicate skills, so you could get multiple Block skills from Skill Chits.

Hope that helps.

Hey Grant, I don't really "need" it. More of if it will never be used and collecting dust. Still have three teams to paint before worrying about a Chaos Pact mashup of players.

I am assuming there is no limit of skills on players when using the skill chits?

Torn between Underworld and Orcs (Just because I painted them up 2 years ago and never used them).

HAHA! This reminds me of a certain coach named Lizardcore Laughing not only would he let you know that the race you play is LAME but that the way you play them is equally LAME, the best comments you could get out of him were that you played in a fashion that was not soo LAME Wink

That is correct you can give multiple skills to one player with the skill chits. up to a max of six upgrades. But then you will be putting all your eggs in one basket so to speak.

Slight update/change to the Improvements . Each team will still draw 2 chits for tier 1 teams, 3 chits and keep 2 for tier 2 teams, and 4 chits and keep 2 for tier 3 teams, but there will be now 4 not 2 of each available skill group (Strength, Agility, General, Passing, and Mutation based on the race of each board played on.) Plus as well one gold chit, one silver chit and 2 bronze chits. Gold=+1 Strength, Silver =+1 Agility, Bronze=+1 Movement or Armor Value.

When you are about to draw your skills , I will be putting in the proper number of chits into the bag for drawing (for example on the Chaos Dwarf Pitch: 4 General, and 4 Strength chits. Now if you do not wish to have a chance to gain any Stat gain just tell me and those said chits will not be added to the bag. Any chit drawn (skill or stat increase is final though )
Clan_Skaven - Apr 03, 2015 - 05:59 AM
Post subject:
So lets say for example you were only interested in the possibility of gaining a +1 Agilty , only the Silver Chit would be added (the Gold and 2 Bronze would not) but if +1 Agilty is actually drawn you can not then change your mind and redraw.

Hope that clears up your question.

After reviewing this situation in the above example it will be all or nothing for the stat upgrades. So if for example you are only interested in the agility stat upgrade, you still have to have the other three stat upgrades in the bag as well. also if you dont want the chance of any stat upgrade you may have zero of the chits put in the bag. As stated above any drawn skill or stat chit is finale.

No Stat increases may be purchased during team creation, however you can draw Stat increases after games from the Skill Chit Bag.

HAHA! I don't blame you at all Chris, those Casino style dice seemed like they had 5 sides with a #1 on them...I would say they brutalized you worse than anything I could have done Smile In all the years I have played I have never seen so many 1's rolled in such a short span, to be honest you took it better than most would have in that scenario man. Hopefully some new dice will treat you much better in the future Wink

Big thank you to Greg and Rod for hosting another fun Bloodbowl Event. Had a some fun times versus all my opponents and am sure to be due for some revenge matches after this weekend from some of them Razz . Had a blast playing DarkOrk20 as always, makes for great entertainment in games and a lot of smack talk which is write up my alley.

Thank you for all the work and efforts put into the event guys, I really enjoyed myself. Liked the format and random progression style of upgrades. I would have a couple ideas if you are interested but we'll talk more on that later. Since I now have free entry into defending my Warpstone Cup Championship from last year it gives me a little more 'pull' with the wife in convincing her to go back to the Falls again so close to the World Cup trip in November!!!

Hope to see some of you next month at the Brewhouse Bowl

Adam

Don't be a sourpuss jrock, you earned that score. I also think those dice need weight tested. Poor Wapcaplets, didn't have any better luck in the final round either. The sewers got 4 of his players and left less for me to get. He got off on that also. Sick canuck. j/k, you know your place in my picking order.

Greg and Rod, you guys did a good job with that tourney. Of course, I never made it up when Spazz was running it. mmmmm.

HAULT, Do not push the RED Button!!!!!!!!!!!!! (please) Smile

There is an error in the results.

The first 3 rounds are in the wrong order, instead of rounds 1,2,3 it is currently in the order of rounds 3,1,2

Not sure if it really matters or if it can be fixed, but I thought I'd point it out.

LOL, it wasn't caught or corrected in time, oh well. Smile

It can still be fixed. Did you use Score? The easiest method is to just delete it all and resubmit it. If you did it manually, I can just delete the third (currently first) round so that you can resubmit that. The timestamp is one of the things you can't manually edit, unfortunately.

(It does affect rankings and stuff.)

Does it really matter which order they are input in? As long as the results are accurate would it not equate to the same thing? Not that it matters to me personally of course lol

It matters because the rankings are calculated each round and modifications are based on the ranking score coming in to each match.
