Resurrection, Swiss match-making and 3/1/0 points for wins, draws and losses.

TEAM BUILD:
Each coach will receive 1100K gold crowns. This money can be used to hire players, cheerle aders, assistant coaches and star players and purchase fan factors, rerolls, apothecaries and inducements. At least 50K of the 1100K have to be used to buy inducements (e.g. Bloodweiser babes, star players, bribes, special play cards, chef etc.). These inducements will be fixed for all three matches.

According to their tier, teams will receive an additional amount of money to purchase skills for their players. No player can receive more than two skills, and no stat upgrades may be purchased. Normal skills cost 20K, double skills 30K.

Tier 1 teams receive 70K: Amazons, Chaos Dwarves, Dark Elves, Dwarves, Lizardmen, Norse, Orcs, Skaven, Undead, Wood Elves.
Tier 2 teams receive 110K: Chaos, Chaos Pact, High Elves, Humans, Khemri, Necromantic, Nurgle, Pro Elves
Tier 3 teams receive 140K: Slann, Underworld, Vampires
Tier 4 teams receive 170K: Goblins, Halflings, Ogres

BONUS:
Each coach who submits the final roster to orioncup15@gmx.net before June 24th AND shows up before 11:15AM on Saturday will receive a free random "Miscellaneous mayhem" card to use once throughout the tournament.

CLARIFICATIONS:
There is no minimum amount of players before purchasing star players, but you have to field at least 11 players.
If both coaches field the same star player, both clones will play, but gain the skill "Disturbing Presence" for this match.
If a coach chooses to induce a special play card, the card will be randomized before each match. Decks can be chosen before each match.
Important: all fatalities inflicted from blocks, fouls, secret weapons and crowd-surfs count towards total number of casualties (i.e. not failed dodges etc.).
Unless stated otherwise, the CRP rules apply.

NOTES:
Due to the limiting opening hours, the 2h play time will be strictly enforced.
There shall be various awards.
Special play cards will be provided, as well as teams if possible. Please inquire.
For your offline reading pleasure, there is also a handy PDF available.

Yeah, sorry, 4 hour drive for three games is a little much for me....the round trip is more than the actual game play. Although I have really been meaning to order stuff from Meeplemart, this might save me on shipping.

If people don' t bail out (which has happened before in the long and rich history of Canadian bloodbowl tournaments, from what I have heard), we might have four or more new NAF members joining at this year's Orion Cup!

I'm pretty sure it is 12+ for a NAF Trophy not 24+ , unless that has changed mind you.

All hail the mighty tournament director, but according to the NAF site it is 24+ for a tournament with three games only. If I had squeezed in a fourth match, it had been 12+.

@DarkOrk20: I hope this mysterious Ohio person is not you! Shouldn't your employer know by now that you are respecting Shabbat and can't come to work on Saturdays?

It's called shorthand! Are there many 1-day, 4-rounders? I ran one in March and everyone was pretty surly by the end of it.

(If you want to cite sanctioning procedure, tournaments are supposed to be submitted 8 weeks beforehand. Shocked )

I considered 4 games, but the opening hours of the game store did not allow for that. Which made the decision easy.

I agree 4 is a bit stressful, but with so many participants, three games will very likely result in the winner being determined by tie breakers. We might end up with three people who won all three matches.
Gaixo - Jun 12, 2015 - 02:25 PM

Thank you everyone for coming out! We had a turnout that by far exceeded my expectations and my regular dice order. Special thanks to Ezzard and Tom for deciding to spend their now officially legal honeymoon in Toronto, and to Ryan for his surprise visit from Montreal. This lifted our numbers to 24 - which to my knowledge was the largest stand-alone* one day tournament in all of the Americas (please don't correct me).

* no convention or back-to-back tournament
