12 tournaments have seen champions crowned – it’s time for a new beginning!

This year we are having two 1 day tournaments and the coach with the most tournament points who participated in both tournaments will be crowned the overall champion. Each tournament will have it’s own individual awards and the overall champions name will be added to the legacy trophy.

Hoser Bowl Saturday March 25th – 4 games

50 Mission Cup Sunday March 26th – 3 games.

DATE
March 25-26, 2017

LOCATION
Dufferin St. Baptist Church
1219 Dufferin St.
Toronto, On
M6H 4C2

We are playing in the basement.

COMMON ELEMENTS

Swiss-style match-ups after game 1.
* Tournament is resurrection.
* We are following the new NAF guidelines since BB2016 was released. That basically means;
CRP + 3 additional teams + NAF Rules Feb 17 (ie. BB2016 + Deathzone 1 + Teams of Legend + NAF Rules Feb 17)
* Tournament points are W/T/L – 60/20/5, along with bonus points identified below with strength of schedule as primary tie-breaker.
* Being that this is the Canadian Open, we will adopt the GW Winter Weather table in order to reflect our unique weather.
* After building your roster, pick a player to be Captain, he gets Leader for free. If you have same Captain both tournaments he also gets Fan Favourite.
* Norse teams get 1 Fan Factor at no cost as this is their turf.
* Teams MUST be painted to 3 colour minimum. There will be penalties for unpainted figures or teams at TO discretion.

HOBBY BONUSES
READ CAREFULLY: You may NOT purchase assistant coaches or cheerleaders.
If you have a coach model painted +1 assistant coach
If you have a cheerleader model painted +1 cheerleader (doesn’t need to be female/pom poms)
A “mascot” can replace one or other @ TO discretion
Max of 1 each, except stunties can have 2 each
READ AGAIN: The ONLY way to get an assistant coach or cheerleader is to have a PAINTED model to represent it and it does not cost any gold.

INDUCEMENTS
No inducements may be purchased unless you are the coach of a “Stunty” team. Stunty teams include; Halfling, Goblin, Ogre, Underworld (without Skaven), and Lizardmen (without Saurus) teams. Stunty teams may purchase 0-1 Star Players, but must purchase 11 players before they can purchase any Star Player. Goblin teams may purchase bribes and Halfling teams may purchase a Halfling Master Chef, all as per standard CRP/LRB6.0 rules.

Can I, for example, play Dark Elves on day 1 and Chaos Pact on day 2 and make a line elf that plays on both teams my Captain to get the bonus?

That is correct. In general if they cost the same, and have the same stats, minor skill or skill access differences are inconsequential.

ie.
Goblin or Troll from Orc, Goblin, Chaos Pact or Underworld
Skaven Lineman from Skaven, Chaos Pact or Underworld
Minotaur from Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Chaos Pact
Treeman from Halfling, Wood Elf.
Ogre from Human, Chaos Pact, Ogres

EDIT
There are three exceptions that are not allowed. This is for fluffy reasons
1) Dwarf & Chaos Dwarf blocker
2) High & Dark Elf blitzer
3) High & Dark Elf lineman

I'm going to try to make Sunday. Probably break my 4 year High Elf streak, unless I can somehow guarantee I'll play Grant, in which case I'll double down on beating him with clearly inferior elves.

Beat him with Goblins. They're even more clearly inferior. Very Happy

It BEGINS....

Also - we officially have as many registered as any previous year. Now make it your job to convince a friend to come!

Actually, with Dan's mom it never ends. She just keeps going and going... or rather coming and coming. Either way, it really is quite remarkable.

Is there a breakdown for how many coaches are registered for Saturday, Sunday, or the whole shebang?
natsirtdm - Feb 21, 2017 - 11:05 AM
Post subject:
We are currently at 24 for Saturday and 20 for Sunday.
Saturday already qualifies for a NAF trophy. I believe we need 4 more for Sunday to qualify.

In the team build sections it says 1,050,000 to build including SKILLS and STATS. I'm assuming this is a team could spend 60k of that cash to get skills and then use the Tier money for more skills.

Am I correct in reading this?
delevus - Feb 28, 2017 - 03:14 PM
Post subject:
Got my answer. All teams have 1,050,000 to spend. Of that each tier is limited to how much of that can be used on skills.

I'm sure a lot of us would appreciate it if you spent 1.05M on your Sunday team too. Smile

Sorry, but I will tell you it is Necromantic if that helps.

As delevus wrote - you have 1.05 (Saturday) or 1.15 (Sunday) TOTAL to spend.
Of that - the tiers get a different allowance, but that still comes out of the above amount.

Hope that is clear - the skill/stat rules (ie. max 2 of a skill, 1 of a stat - max 2 upgrade per player) still apply.

We are up to 30 for Saturday and 28 for Sunday.. early bird closes on Monday.
I am still waiting on a lot of rosters - please get them in a bit early unless you are 100% sure you've got it right, I want to start printing rosters ASAP.
