Post subject: Canadian Open 2019: 2x one day - Feb 23/24 Toronto, ON
Hoser Bowl : Saturday February 23rd – 4 games
50 Mission Cup : Sunday February 24th – 3 games

DATE
February 23 - 24, 2019

LOCATION
Dovercourt House
805 Dovercourt Rd, Toronto, ON M6H 2X4
We are on the second floor.

COMMON ELEMENTS

* Swiss-style match-ups after game 1.
* Tournament is resurrection.
* We are following the most up to date NAF guidelines. That basically means;
*** All 23 mandatory + 3 NAF Sanctioned teams will be permitted
*** We use the CRP version of Piling On
*** Note: the listed Lewdgrip is incorrect in these files, the updated Lewdgrip is the one available.

* Tournament points are W/T/L – 60/20/5, along with bonus points identified below with strength of schedule as primary tie-breaker.
* Being that this is the Canadian Open, we will adopt the GW Winter Weather table in order to reflect our unique weather.
* After building your roster, pick a player to be Captain, he gets LEADER for FREE. If you have same Captain both tournaments he also gets Fan Favourite (UNLESS you bring the same race to both tournaments - in that instance he gets "Fan Hated" - gives minus one to FAME)
* Norse teams get 1 Fan Factor at no cost as this is their turf.
* Teams MUST be painted to 3 colour minimum. There will be penalties for unpainted figures or teams at TO discretion.

HOBBY BONUSES
READ CAREFULLY: You may NOT purchase assistant coaches or cheerleaders.
If you have a coach model painted +1 assistant coach
You MUST have a coach model to argue the call!!!
If you have a cheerleader model painted +1 cheerleader (doesn’t need to be female/pom poms)
A “mascot” can replace one or other @ TO discretion
Max of 1 each, except stunties can have 2 each
READ AGAIN: The ONLY way to get an assistant coach or cheerleader is to have a PAINTED model to represent it and it does not cost any gold.

INDUCEMENTS
Most inducements are available to all teams but you must purchase 11 players before they can purchase any Star Player. Goblin teams may purchase bribes at 50k and Halfling teams may purchase a Halfling Master Chef at 100k.

Schottenheim, Horticulturalist of Nurgle, Papa Skullbones, Weather Mage and any others that may have been missed or come out prior to tournament ***

Since it's always asked - details about same captain different race.

In general if they cost the same, and have the same stats, minor skill or skill access differences are inconsequential.

ie.
Goblin or Troll from Orc, Goblin, Chaos Pact or Underworld
Skaven Lineman from Skaven, Chaos Pact or Underworld
Minotaur from Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Chaos Pact
Treeman from Halfling, Wood Elf.
Ogre from Human, Chaos Pact, Ogres

There are three exceptions that are not allowed. This is for fluffy reasons
1) Dwarf & Chaos Dwarf blocker
2) High & Dark Elf blitzer
3) High & Dark Elf lineman

Good luck guys!

I had been hoping to come out for this one, but getting a concussion messed up a bunch of stuff for me. Recovering nicely but got behind on so much stuff at home.

Shame, I haven't been to the Open since '07

Hey everyone,

I am planning on bringing a bunch of my teams down for sale at the tournament. Each team will range from $70-$100 and will have their own carrying case (which will NOT be sold separately). At one point I had every team represented, so if there a particular race that you are looking for, then let me know and I can provide pics.

Thanks!

Thanks Tristan for the fun time! I appreciate the two one day tourney format, as it gave me the opportunity to make it for the one event.

Question: Are you going to be posting the overall standings? I would be curious to see where I finished.

Thanks!
