Post subject: Canadian Open 2023 - Feb 11 Kitchener, ON
The Canadian Open returns! Join us in welcoming it to a new home in Kitchener, Ontario.

The Canadian Open will be a one day, four game tournament. Want to make a weekend out of it? Stay Sunday and play in the ICEBOWL, a second 1 day event that is only 3 games.

Team Building:
All Coaches are required
to draft teams including Inducements utilising the World Cup rules pack. See here: https://www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Ruleset-NWC-Alicante-2023.pdf?fbclid=IwAR1ltrgszbj7t6DeKGyKtY26kxr7VJfECaXHNk77FAiVogza3xvr2Ceyb7Q
Pages 2-4 in particular.

No other inducements allowed, all money must be spent. No in-game inducements and no cards. When submitting your roster for approval please note which skill set you are selecting.

Special Rules:
-We will use the GW winter pitch rules. They will be available on each table for reference.
* Norse teams get +1 dedicated fans at no cost as this is their turf.
* Teams MUST be painted to 3 colour minimum. There will be penalties for unpainted figures or teams at TO discretion.

* After building your roster, pick a player to be Captain, they get PRO for FREE if you have same Captain in both the Canadian Open AND Icebowl (UNLESS you bring the same race to both tournaments - in that instance they get Bone Head)
Since it's always asked - details about same captain different race:

In general if they cost the same, and have the same stats, minor skill or skill access differences are inconsequential.

ie.
Goblin or Troll from Orc, Goblin, Chaos Pact or Underworld, Snotling
Skaven Lineman from Skaven, Chaos Pact or Underworld
Minotaur from Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Chaos Pact
Treeman from Halfling, Wood Elf.
Ogre from Human, Chaos Pact, Ogres

There are three exceptions that are not allowed. This is for fluff reasons:
1) Dwarf & Chaos Dwarf blocker
2) High & Dark Elf blitzer
3) High & Dark Elf lineman

If in doubt please ask the TO when submitting your roster.

Be sure to send in your roster and $ to confirm your attendance: thecanadianopen@gmail.com

* Please submit all rosters using the Blood Bowl Team Creator website:
https://bbtc.pl/index.php Be sure to generate PDF and email for approval:
thecanadianopen@gmail.com

Norse seem fitting for the event with all of the Norse rules, especially if they’re already painted. Then get the Goblins painted up for the next event.

Yep, I've decided, I'm bringing the Warclaw Runners to the Open on Saturday and my Fjord Escorts to the Icebowl cup on the Sunday, this means no more rushed painting.

Thanks for putting it all on Grant, I had a great weekend, felt well out of my depth Saturday morning before game 1, but was put at ease by every one there, only complaint I could possibly have was the breakfast at the hotel was dire.

I'm already planning on attending next year and trying to get to as many as I can this year.
