Thanks Indigo!

I'll admit I'm a rookie at Blood Bowl - I've played a few games recently but I used to play when V2 was around (I miss the polystyrene board!).

I've played 40K for a few years now and for the last year I've been getting more and more into Fanatic games such as Mordheim, Warmaster and of course Blood Bowl. I'm currently playing Amazons but I'm also building teams for Humans, Necromantic and Halflings - I'll admit to even having a hankering for Chaos Dwarfs and Nurgle's Rotters...

If you take a look at my website you can see my Amazon team in the Gallery section.

Cheers!

I've already looked at where the ECBBL play - unfortunately it's a bit too out of my way as I live in Chelmsford and commute to Liverpool Street. Also I'm only allowed one night a week to play as I'm trying not to ignore the wife and kids! My house is a ten minute walk from GW Chelmsford so I play there on veteran's night on Tuesday's (Not tonight though - got stuck at work till 7.30 trying to fix some daft old cow's laptop...)

Are you guys getting the GW Event guys involved? They might give you a hand with the organisation and maybe even lend a prize or two...

Cheers!

I expect they will be - the NAF hasa pretty good relationship with Fanatic so tourneys generally get decent sponsorship.

Slim to none! I doubt I'd be able to make it on a Tuesday or Thursday night - you'd have finished by the time I get home and drive to Cambridge! I have a hard enough time making it to the Chelmsford store before 7.30 Sad

My gaming groups Blood Bowl league is pretty pitiful at the moment - the Commish stopped coming to the store and most of the players drifted off to play 40K instead. There's a few of us who've tried to keep it going but it's difficult to make sure everyone attends. Oh well...

Maybe we could arrange a one day inter-store tourney for the veterans of the GW stores in the area? All take a day off from work and organise a coach to Lenton for the day?

Only prob for me is that GW Chelmsford doesn't have a manager at the moment so we'd have to organise it with anther store - maybe George at Ipswich branch? He's sorted out trips to Lenton for "Conflict East Anglia" before. That time the coach started at Chelmsford at 5am and stopped at Colchester, Ipswich and Cambridge then up to Lenton. It was a long day but it was good fun and we got to go to Warhammer World for the day. As it was midweek some of the GW staff even came along to see how were were doing.

Something to think about anyway...

Cheers!

Tell me about it Sad Before Dan arrived, I was the only person who wnted to play BB, and for a while after it was only us. Since then though it's taken off a bit and more people are playing. Fecking 40k ruins everything!

Now you mention it, there are upcoming cell tournaments to be held at WW. I'll be part of the Cambridge store team facing Loughborough, Coventry, & Peterborough although sadly Ipswich, Chelmsford & Norwich aren't in there...

I went to a conflict east anglia 40k once (when I was still giving 40k a go) and it was OK. I expect a BB one will be MUCH better though Very Happy

Badger your people there though, we could get a BB East Anglia thing going! I'd like to see cell tournaments culminating in a national store championship but I doubt it'd ever happen.

Indigo,

Referring to my previous post about an inter-store match up, I visited the Chelmsford store on Saturday and gave them the hot news about the Pearly Kings and Queens tourney. The new permanant manager of the Chelmsford store is Ron Battram - otherwise known as shaven-wookie in NAF!

He's mad on Blood Bowl so you never know - we might be able to organise an East Anglia meet up... Either way, I'm pretty much guranteed to see some more Blood Bowl being played in the store :)

I was in the same boat mate. I e-mailed, P.M.'d etc until I had confirmation from Ian that, because it said that I had paid in full on the Pearlys website, me and my mate are definately in.

To be honest, this kind of think is a bit complicated to work out at the best of times, let alone when everyone has full time jobs to do as well Rolling Eyes .

I give credit to the 'London Boys' for organising the tourney in the first place, just keep the e-mails up and I'm sure you will get an answer....

I know that Andy has also been getting a lot of e-mails and pms about various tournament issues. Looks like a good hostel, although I can see a massive potential for a hang-over after being in a pub all day. Just need to work out the various tube hopping arrangements to get there from the train station - all very cosmopolitan for us small town dwellers.

Indigo - the only "safe" parking in this area would be NCP and thus quite expensive. I'd seriously suggest going by train into Liverpool Street - the pub is nearby and you'll be still able to partake of it's refreshments Mr. Green

While I'm at it, well done for getting your Camcarnage report in BB12. It's nice to see a big NAF logo in a GW magazine! It even shows a picture of Deathwing's MIA Amazons... Crying or Very sad

Latest info from Interpol is that the head coach is running the linewomen as 'working girls', the throwers and catchers are working in the Banana Bar, the blitzer corps were last seen knocking around with the F-Side and the cheerleader is reputedly opening a coffeeshop.

I've updated the list to show that Orthodub can't make it after all.

Only 8 coaches still to pick their race....

If you are wondering why I don't say who's playing what its because we are seeding the 1st round based on NAF rankings - so knowing what others have picked may enable you to pick your opponent.

Bassman I imagine visitors are welcome, I believe numbers have been limited by table space rather than by fire regulations or anything like that (Ian care to comment) - the venue is a pub so etiquette may dictate you should buy a pint. Also the pub is closed to the public for the weekend so you ought to let Doubleskulls or Haggislad know that you want to visit so you can be let in.

Two weeks to go and I'm getting excited Smile

This will be my first BB tournament and my first chance to get a NAF ranking of some kind! I'm busily painting my Necromantic team at the moment and I've been creating a team roster - I was wondering if there was a tournament specific roster sheet I could use? (One that doesn't have all the standard league details like star player points..) I'm sure I'll cope with the standard Excel roster but it'd be nice to have a NAF roster sheet...

Just to be certain - am I right in assuming we're using Wild Animal as the 4+ to do anything but block, as per the initial rules review? I've seen chat about 2+ something, which some people seem to be regarding as official, but can't see it on gw site.
Thought I'd check on the picky stuff in advance.
Doubleskulls - Mar 17, 2004 - 09:44 AM

Wild Animal will be 4+ to do anything other than Block.

AFAIK this is the current official rule - i.e. RR2003.

Ian -

I believe the BBRC and Jervis have agreed to change the "Wild Animal' to the 2+ added to a declared Block, Blitz or Foul, effective now. It hasn't been updated to the published RR but I believe Chet has said on the 'Wild Animal' thread that this is official and will be included when the LRB 3.0 is released in the next few weeks...

"Wild Animals are uncontrollable creatures that rarely do exactly what a coach wants of them. In fact, just about all you can really rely on them to do is lash out at opposing players that move too close to them! To represent this, when you declare an action with a Wild Animal, roll a D6 adding +2 to the roll if taking a Block, Blitz or Foul action. On a roll of 1-3, the Wild Animal stands still and roars in rage instead, and the action is wasted. Note that the Wild Animal no longer has to move first and that he can now use assists. Also note that no dice roll is required for the Wild Animal to turn face-up when stunned."

Which is nearly verbatim what Chet proposed and removes any question of the stun-to-prone dice roll. As I understand it, the BBRC has agreed on this but it has not been officially posted anywhere.

If you don't like the rule either don't take a Wild Animal or play a different team. This isn't up for discussion at this late stage.

[That comes over a little harsh - sorry - but I think the situation sucks]

Thanks - I thought that would be the case, just I seem to have caught the this WA debate part way through. Seems slightly ridiculous having a rules review and then impromtu change again if people whinge, but that's another issue. Just thought I'd better check beforehand as it seemed to have the potential for being a contentious issue.
Right, better get back to painting, 8 days left....

One request for the people who comes from abroad for this next weekend...:
We (siscor and Myself) are looking for a card game that we cant find here (in Uk) called Bohnanza. We checked internet, but the shiping prices are nearly the double than the original game price. I've seen this game in Germany and Holland (I nearly got it as a price at the MadHobit, but I took home the Mamma Mia one Sad )
If any one can help me... please PM
Thanks and see you next weekend.....

Actually I've now given up, need to be up at 6, and I'm not going to get enough sleep next few nights as is, so I'll call it a day, they're usable, just not 'finished'. The bull centaurs being particularly 'minimalist'. Most of them just need some finishing touches, although I find that tends to take hours, and I've not packed or printed rosters out yet. Organised as ever.
