Because not everybody goes to the World Cup… we’re having a tourney!!!
It's the 9th edition of the Four Nations Cup! To be held at Pub Randolph, 408 Rue Notre-Dame, Repentigny, QC J6A 2T1, on September 23 and 24.
Here are the rules for this NAF-sanctioned tourney:
- Five games of Blood Bowl, using BB2020 rules (including the latest NAF May rules review), Swiss style, over two days (3 on Saturday; 2 on Sunday) and fun to remember for the rest of your life!
- Painted teams strongly encouraged (though no points for painting them... but who wants to play grey elves anyway?)
35$ NAF members / 30$ early registration
Food and beverage on site. **NO OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE** This is a pub venue.
TEAM CREATION:
- 1,100,000 Starting TV, minimum of 11 players; Star players & Apo allowed (Star Players not allowed in first 11 players);
- No inducements;
- Then, you get to choose skills according to tiers:
* Tier A - 6 skills (no secondaries) Chaos Dwarves, Dark Elves, Dwarves, Humans, Lizardmen, Orcs, Undead, Wood Elves;
* Tier B - 6 skills (up to one secondary) Amazons, Elf Union, High Elves, Necromantic Horrors, Norse, Skaven, Slann, Underworld;
* Tier C - 8 skills (up to two secondaries) Black Orcs, Chaos, Chaos Pact, Imperial Nobility, Khorne, Nurgle, Old World Alliance, Tomb Kings, Vampires
* Tier D - 8 skills (up to four secondaries) Goblins, Halflings, Ogres, Snotlings
- No ability (MA, ST, AG, PA, AV) upgrades allowed at team creation;
- ***** IMPORTANT: No more than 2 extra skills per player at team creation, no more than 3 extra skills on any player during tourney;
- ***** IMPORTANT 2: No more than two instances of the same added skill on your whole roster (if you got two extra Mighty Blows, you can never get a 3rd one);
- ***** IMPORTANT 3: Some star players incur skill penalties. Here’s the list:
Morg’N’Throg & Griff Oberwald: 3 primary skills;
Cindy Piewhistle, Deeproot Strongbranch, Hakflem Skuttlespike, Kreek Rustgouger & Bomber Dribblesnot: 2 primary skills;
Wilhelm Chaney: 1 primary skill.
**** IMPORTANT 4: It is strongly recommended to use a digital roster sheet that allows the quick calculation of starting TV. Two of those (but not the only ones) can be found here (https://bit.ly/3yDC4Kf) and here (https://bit.ly/3NGFz7b).
In any case, we ask that you come in with a created roster, not to write one before tourney starts (Thanks Manu!).
- This a resurrection tourney;
- Positively no overtime;
FOUR NATIONS CUP SPECIAL RULES:
- Popol le Bleu, estranged wizard of the Four Nations League, is mad and wants to disrupt the league's tourney, so he'll be available to each team for a single use throughout the tourney (meaning: everybody gets one use of a Hireling Sports-Wizard, as on p.94 of the BB2020 Official Rules Book;
- After each game, coaches can select a player on his team and assign him a primary skill. Coaches can also elect to defer this selection until later:
- If they defer to after the second game, they can select a secondary skill;
- If they defer to after the third game, they can now ROLL for a stat increase.
- Coaches could also pick a primary after game 1, defer after game 2 and select a secondary after game 3 or roll a stat after game 4.
SCHEDULE:
Check-in at 8 on Saturday
3 Games starting at 9;
Sunday: 2 games, starting at 10:30.
AWARDS:
- 1ST , 2ND , 3RD
- Stunty Cup if 3+ stunty teams!
- Most TDs
- Best Defense
- Most CAS
- Best painted team
- Best sportsmanship
- Best Female Coach!
EXTRA RULES
- VIGOROUSLY APPLIED TIME LIMIT of 2h15 PER GAME!!
4 minutes turns = 2h08 per game, 2h15 should be enough.
- Swiss style pairing throughout the weekend
- Game play points: Win 3, Tie 1, Loss 0
- Tie breaker:
Head to Head record;
Strength of schedule;
TD differential;
CAS differential;
Most TD;
Most CAS.
How much will it cost?
It will cost you 35 $ for the tourney, but...
EARLY ENTRY RAFFLE!!!!!
If you register and pay by September 16, 11:59 PM, you'll pay only 30$ and get a chance to win a spanking new team, to be determined later;
If you submit your team using ANY electronic team tracker by Sept. 22, 11:59 pm, you get a second ticket for the raffle AND can win a second prize to be determined later (most probably team dice).

- Your painted team;
- Pitch, dice, pencil, clean clothes!
- Glue and paints to repair some nicks and chips;

Pub Randolph serves food and their kitchen will be open both days. I'm also told they sell something called beer. I might try that...

IMPORTANT MODIFICATIONS TO TIERS AND STAR PLAYERS PENALTIES!!!!!
To be more in tune with the rest of the tourney scene, please note some changes applied to the team creation process:
TEAM CREATION:
