Post subject: Ideas for Norse blitzers  PostPosted: Mar 30, 2004 - 05:15 PM

I have a couple of BB Boris minis by Heresy and I wanted to do a converted Norse team with them as my blitzers. I wouldn't want all 4 blitzers to look the same so I was wondering what to use for the other 2 blitzers. Anyone have any ideas? Just in case you were wondering, I am using plastic marauders for the other positions, though I did purchase some Confrontation barbarian minis that I thought I could convert into blitzers but they look a little small compared to the others, so they will probably become catchers.
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas of what to use for blitzers (available to Canada), please let me know.

Torg-
I'm not sure what is still available from GW, but their Old Norse Bezerker models from Warhammer Fantasy Battle are the way to go. I have one, but don't have the catalog handy to get you the part number.

I know this is really not that much to go on, but I just wanted to let you know that these existed. Maybe someone in the UK with access to the old GW catalog can be more helpful.

I know the one's you mean, and I'll try an dig my old catalogue out of the loft (attic), but I think they may be a bit small compared to the Heresy Boris figs.

Darkson-
There is one in particular that I think works, and is in my plans for when I get around to this team. He is squatting and holding two axes I believe. (I had converted him a while back for use as a thrall with the Vampire Team when the rules for them first came out. Smile )

He may be a bit smaller, but I think that the pose does a bit to conceal the difference. (Which is slight if I remember correctly.)

I have never seen the actual size, but would the "Thrud" model be too big for your other two Blitzers? (Thrud, looks kinda Norse)

Which Thrud? The GW BB one, or the ltd ed. Heresy one? (And Torg, weren't you going to convert your Heresy one?)

Darkson-

I went into my older stuff, and found the Norse Bezerker figure...you're right it is a bit too small to be a blitzer. It may be able to pass for a normal lineman, but that even appears to be a stretch.

Could you post a picture of it? Couldn't find it in the online store.
