Ok I've been fiddling with the idea of a Norse team in future Tourneys.

I've come down to two rosters, I'm looking for anyone's opinion. Thanks.

Ok 1)

1 Ogre_____________120,000
4 Blitzers___________360,000
4 Catchers__________280,000
1 Thrower____________70,000
1 Linemen____________50,000

1 Appoth._____________50,000
1 RR_________________60,000
1 FF__________________10,000
TOTAL= 1,000,000

2)

1 Ogre_______________120,000
3 Blitzers_____________270,000
3 Catchers____________210,000
1 Thrower______________70,000
3 Linemen_____________150,000

1 Appoth._______________50,000
2 RR__________________120,000
1 FF____________________10,000
TOTAL=1,000,000

Which idea is better?

The third one, the one with the Mino Wink

5 Frenzying players in one team is an unstopable warmachine...

I see your point, but the Ogre al around is a better Big Guy, than the Mino. IMO

Not with this ruleset... in fact Mino it's the only one who do not need to roll to unstun Wink

Ogre are surely perfect all-around big guy... but I personally think that Mino better fullfilll a Norse team.. at least for fluff reasons Smile

Neither option is any good, since they're illegal. Catchers are 0-2.

Norse linemen are some of the best value players in the game, so stock up on them. I think at the Deathbowl i went with something like :

1 Ogre
2 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
5 Linemen
1 Apothecary
1 FF
3 Rerolls

I seem to remember having more rerolls so it's not impossible that i went with only one blitzer and one catcher for an extra reroll.

I lent out my rule book, so I was unsure of the position max. (thoght that catchers & blitzers were 0-4)

I'll redoo, my team plan.

This is not from experience, as I have never played with the Norse squad, but I'm not sure that you need the Ogre at all. I know that you are typically a Skaven player that might need the extra punch, but don't forget that every player gets Block to start. Even the catchers...BLOCK...EVERY PLAYER!!! Very Happy

When they first came out I remember being upset that their AV is so low...and I'm still unsure what justifies this fluff-wise, but that Block-Block-Block right out of the box makes them like fast Dwarfs. (Minus the AV)

How about the fact that they're basically humans who play half naked?

Zombie-
I could live with that explanation on face value...but shouldn't the same explanation work to explain why each of the Norse Players should also have +1 MA?

If what we have is normal Humans with less armor...therefore a lower AV...shouldn't we then also assume that these same normal humans minus the encumberance of armour would make them that much quicker?

Just my opinion...Unless they just forgot their snow shoes! Wink

How bout this...

4 Blitzers 360,000
1 Thrower 70,000
1 Catcher 70,000
1 Ogre 120,000
4 Linemen 200,000

1 Appoth 50,000
1 FF 10,000
2 RR 120,000
TOTAL 1,000,000

Zombie, I know that 2 RR's are not that much, but I was thinking 4 guys with Block & Frenzy (& I think Jump Up, again I don't have my rules with me) was too good to pass up. Zombie you play Norse, whats more important to the overall team, the Blitzers or the extra RR's?

I don't play norse. That tournament was the first time ever that i tried them. I find the blitzers quite good but overpriced. I'd rather have the rerolls. Besides, the linemen are the biggest advantage this team has (same stats as everyone else, have block and only cost 50k). Not getting as many of them as you can is a mistake.
