Dear Wolfhowl.

Lovely to see another enthusiast paint his own team. *Thumbs up*, and congratulations on your very first self-painted team.

A few suggestions.

You basically paint the mini and paint the sections without hitting the rest of the mini with excess paint. Next step should be experimenting with ink or/and drybrushing.

There are several excellent paint guids out there on the net and I am sure you can find some.

First model : The Crimson King. Try making a dark red ink or any other ink you think would fit well with his main colour. then use it on the helmet for starters.

I am sure you can see the result right away.
Move on to the rest of the model.

The ink will make small details like eyes, cracks in helmet, mouthopenings etc. be more clear. After the ink is dry you can fix edges with a highlight.

Once your done with the helmet(And im sure you will love it) you can move on to the gloves kneepads etc.

If you use the paint-starter set from Games-Workshop, and are limited with range of colours, get out Mr. Flagg.

Add alot of water to the black(Prolly a chaos black) and make you own ink with it. Use it on all the silvery spots. It looks to me like a Mithril Silver. If you use the black ink on example. the broch on Mr. Flaggs right shoulder, again, I am sure you will see a result right away. Once it is dry try and brush (the broch) with the mithril silver.

If you like the result try that same method on John Farsons BElt buckle.
Rhea of the Coos's brooch on the shoulder.
Eldred Jonas's Spike and the belt buckle again.

Perhaps for starters, try on one mini. If you like it and can get the hang of it, move on to the next.

If you need more advice feel free to PM me.(read paint guide on how to use ink and drybrushing first though)

Good luck.

- Lars

Again gratz on your first team.
