High Elf Tactics Inquiry

To all the High Elf players out there, what is your tactic for moving the ball down field??
I know this all depends on your opponent, but most teams are average in movement, (yes I know Woodies and Lizards are very fast and Dwarf and Khermi are very slow.)

Most of us do Stack up one side of the Line of Scrimmage with players, but what do you do you next...

1. )
- Your Stacked front line blast a hole through the Defense...
- Your Lion Warrior or Dragon Warrior runs through the hole and then down field...
- The rest of your players run down field also and forms "Da Cage" around the receiver...
- Then your Thrower sweep in to pick up the ball and moves down field to shorten the range of the pass...
- He launches it and is caught and you hope your "Cage" can hold up to the pounding it will take...
- Next Turn, maybe dodge out and score, if there is a way out...

2. )
- Your Stacked front line blast a hole through the Defense...
- Multiple Lion Warriors or Dragon Warriors run through the hole and then down field, setting up multiple targets for the thrower to hit... (Of course, the opposing players next turn will try to tie them up with TZs.)
- The rest of your players tie everyone else up and keep the back field safe as possible...
- Your Phoenix Warrior scoops up the ball and then drifts back out of range of the opposing team, even taking their GFIs into mind.
- Next turn, the Thrower runs up the side, throws a pass to one of the waiting receiver, (even if they are in a TZ), catches the ball dodge out and score.

3. )
- Similar to #2, but uses two Phoenix Warriors...
- Both Phoenix Warriors in the back field waiting for the bounce of the ball...
- One Thrower scoops the ball and falls back...
- The 2nd Thrower moves forward to sit on the Line of Scrimmage trying to stay out of enemy TZs.
- Next turn the fall back Thrower moves up hands the ball to the Thrower on the L.o.S.
- The 2nd Thrower, now moves forward and makes the Quick or Short Pass to one of the waiting receiver, catches the ball dodge out and score.

Sooooooooo... what are you doing to move the ball???

#3 mainly - but any old player can take the pass from the deep thrower and hand off.

There is an alternative to #3 which is when you slow opponent overcommits to one side just pass and run down the other side to score next turn.

This is what I do with my dark elves.
Send up some players halfway into his half that you'd like to score a td (doesn't need to be positionals, linemen can score just fine). Also send in some support players with block and/or dodge. You should have about 3-4 players on his side preferably spread out.
Your thrower picks up the ball and drops back out of blitzing range. About 2 players linger near the line of scrimmage out of opponents tackle zones (thrower can pass to these later which can then hand off to scorer).
Now your opponent reacts. He has 2 options:
1) cover your receivers properly, that means 2 markers/receiver, giving you the advantage on the LoS. Now just move the ball upfield and take advantage of your numeric advantage on the LoS.
2) cover your receivers with just 1 marker/receiver and try to pressure your ball carrier. Easy play: one receiver (supporting receiver) dodges out to blitz another receiver's marker, now either pass to the free receiver directly or pass to a free middle man which can make the handoff. In any case he'll never be able to cover everything properly and there's always a free elf somewhere after a blitz.

Easy as pie. Just remember some things. Never throw to a marked receiver if possible. Make the extra handoff if that avoids an interception attempt, both usually have 1 out of 6 chances to mess up your play but an interception is almost always devestating, a missed handoff is usually easier to recover from. Never run your receivers deeper in field then necessary (just make sure they can reach the ez in 1 turn) as that only makes for longer passes and cuts you off from support. With elves everyone is a receiver, opponents will most likely focus on marking positionals leaving your linemen free or lightly marked, use it to your advantage.

The advantage of these kind of plays is that you can easily adapt to the situation, running the typical elf cage near the sideline is more restrictive.
