Wanting some advice...
Currently my team is 11 players strong, with 3 re-rolls. However, I am aware that it is not a ST based time, so I am anticipating heavy casualties. Since this is a TOURNAMENT team, should I go for an extra lineman, losing a re-roll, or go with an 11-strong team and 3 re-rolls?
I've tried practice matches with both configs, and I am leaning towards the 11 man team, but wouldn't mind some outside opinions...
Of course, this has nothing to do with the Blood Bowl at all, and is strictly hypothetical |

Try:
4 Blitzers, 1 Thrower, 1 Catcher, 4 Linemen, Griff, 2 x RR, 2 x FF
or better still:
4 Blitzers, 1 Thrower, 2 Catchers, 4 Linemen, 4 x RR, 3 x FF (or sacrifice one of the RRs for another lineman - my personal preference) |

Oh no, the best tourney line up I've come up with is:
2 Throwers
3 Blitzers
5 Linemen
1 Ogre
4 rerolls
2 Fan Factor
You don't want wimpy Catchers clogging up your young Human team. This line up will give you most of the skills you should need, along with an incredible 4 rerolls. That Ogre on the front line will give you an anchor to compete with any line up anyone can field. |

That only gives you 11 players though. While the 4 rerolls is great, in my experience with humans (in fact, most teams), you really need that 12th player to fill in gaps that will happen after the first game.

Its a tournament side you get all the cas back and the roster is reset each round in most tournaments. |

Now that of course depends entirely on your style. Worth noting that Longfang loves his catchers and likes to squeeze in 3 if possible. He's W10 D5 L1 in tournament play since he went over to Humies after Res.
Of course it doesn't work for everybody..if you tend to play the human hitting game, don't bother...
Humans are versatile enough that I don't believe there's an 'optimum' line-up. Horses for courses and all that. |

put in what you like.
Longfang had just three lineman in the Dutch Open.
It was a TR 110 tournie though .. |

I prefer Longfang team cos you can play all the style you want with blitzers, catchers....
If you only want a big front line, take Orcs.
I would not take a big guy cos of bonehead.
Only 11 players in a human team is pretty few, i wonder what could really do this team against an undead/or Dwarf/ or Orc one.Cos they are far better in the kind of play you want to do. |

heh problem is I am limited to Zug or an Ogre cos of the models I have
I reasoned that 4 blitzers gives a lot of fast hitters, with zug to "hold the line" against tougher teams. I think I am pretty settled on this. Then again I had this idea:
Zug
4 Blitzers
1 Thrower
2 Catchers
4 Linemen
2 x RR
1 x FF
Although I am a little reluctant to have 1 FF...
Having playtested a few of the comboc above, I am now settled on what I am taking
not telling what though |

Even if you want to play a thug team catchers are very useful in order to place assists where you need them.
I'd go with:
1 (O)gre 120
2 (B)lizers 180
2 (C)atchers 140
2 (T)hrowers 140
4 (L)ineman 200
3 Re-rolls 150
1 Apothecary 50
2 Fan Factor 20
There is a very nice defensive set up that can be used with this starting team.
Code:
------LOL------
---------------
-L--B-----B--L-
---------------
---------------
-T--C-----C--T-

Quick tip - I'd have a defensive setup other than that 3-4-4 if you come across undead or orcs.... |

yes, and since zug is as strong as an ogre, and can use re-rolls he is much more tempting
sadly, I might not get the chance to use my converted ogre |
