Hi all.
This is my first post on the site. I am currently working on a Goblin team using the new Neomics range with the GW Ripper Balgrot figure as my troll. I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips for painting Trolls as this will be the first 'Big Guy' i've undertaken. I'm open to colour options too.
I will post some pics of the miniatures that i've completed so far and my pitch etc once i sort a camera out.
Thanks
James

a) do you have a pic of your team colors on another thread or can post here?
b) you are using Ripper so you can make him a traditional stone troll (Blue up to gray skin) You can make him like the thing (Brick orange with lots of black creasing) You can go a shade of green.
c)I do think Pink, Purple, Black, and yellow are not the direction you want to go as primary colors

They look good in brown as well - more Lord of the Rings look - basecoat Graveyard earth, heavy brown wash, highlight with graveyard earth mixing in bleached bone - keep the layers thin.
Another option is P3 Troll base & highlight. There is a tutorial on Brush Thralls on non human skin that may help.

Thanks guys.
As the Neomics miniatures i'm using are mostly in comical poses and look pretty funny as a team, i was thinking of a comedy colour so he stands out even more!! I guess i will try a few things and see what i end up with.
Thanks
James

I really like that!!! I think the miniature looks better with the spike removed from the helmet. I may do that to mine after seeing your pics. Very nice painting indeed too may I add.

I got the mini "pre-owned" so didn't even know he was meant to have a spike on his helmet until long after painting him.. Laughing
