West Yorkshire Blood Bowl League presents -
WOBBLE BOWL 2017
16 coach tournament - NAF ranking to be confirmed

Greetings Blood Bowl Coaches,

The West Yorkshire Blood Bowl League is proud to announce, that on the 21st of January 2017 at the Stainbeck United Reformed Church, that they will be hosting Wobble Bowl.

After a successful Wibble Bowl in October 2016 we have been invited back to run a tournament alongside the church’s semi regular games day. However all is not as it seems, due to some complaints about a lack of wizards (that’s D&D players for you!) in our last tournament we have been asked to address this issue and as such all coaches will be granted a free wizard on their roster!
Furthermore those pesky wizards have been meddling with the ball, and as a consequence we will be using the WYBBL Wobble Ball (copyright pending) rule. See the rule section for further information.

General Information

Wobble Bowl will be held on Saturday 21st January 2017 at Stainbeck United Reformed Church, Stainbeck Road, Leeds, LS7 2PP

Game timings will be as follows:
09:45 to 10.00 Registration
10:00 to 12:00 Game One
12:00 to 12:30 Lunch
12:30 to 14:30 Game Two
14:40 to 16:40 Game Three
16:40 to 17:00 Snack Break
17:00 to 19:00 Game Four
19:00 to 19:15 Awards and close

The venue has ample free parking which is accessed via Stainbeck Lane (around the corner from the front of the church). A buffet will provide for lunch and local shops and takeaways are just over the road from the church.

Entry costs and payment

Wobble Bowl is part of the church’s games day, however it is being organised by WYBBL who will be collecting the fees, these fees will be used to purchase trophies and as a donation to the church for use of the buffet lunch and usage of the hall.

An early bird discount will be offered for all coaches registering on or before the 30th of November 2016, we will also be offering a discount for under 16’s. The pricing structure will be as follows:

NAF registered adults will be £8.50 on the early bird and £10.00 there afterwards, non-NAF will be £13.50 and £15.00 but will include NAF membership.

NAF registered under 16’s will be £3.50 on the early bird and £5.00 there afterwards, non-NAF will be £8.50 and £10.00 but will include NAF membership.

Please send payments by paypal to admin@wybbl.org.uk. Could you select the 'gift' or 'paying a friend' option so we don't lose out on fees please? Please tell us your NAF name and number if registered. As we will be paying for the trophies and the like using funds collected we will be unable to offer refunds, we will however look to offer these places to other coaches, and if successful the fee will be passed on to the coaches who drop out.

Rules

Wobble Bowl will be using the CRP / LRB 6.0 rules, any of the 24 races can be used.

The Illegal Procedure will not be enforced. There is a time limit for games, so coaches are encouraged to play 4 minute turns to ensure games are completed. Any games that reach the time limit will have to be halted and the result at this point will be the final result of that game.

We will be using the standard "Resurrection" rules; coaches will play each match with the same starting roster and do not need to record SPPs or any ongoing injuries. Undead, Necro or Nurgle teams may not keep 'raised' players from game to game.

We will also be using the ‘WYBBL Wobble Ball’ rule.

Some say the winds of magic blow strongest this time of year, others will tell you the ball is enchanted and has a mind of its own. Either way the ball is a little ... unpredictable....

To represent this whenever the ball scatters and lands in an empty square it "wobbles" one additional square in a random direction determined by the scatter template before finally coming to rest. If it lands on a standing player they will attempt to catch it as normal and it will SCATTER again if not caught or after landing on a prone player. The ball will always wobble once (and only once) after scattering including after kick off, failed catches, failed pick-ups and throw ins.

Coaches may spend up to 1,100,000 gold crowns on their team roster, and as mentioned earlier each team will be given a free wizard to use in each game. Rosters may include one star player as part of their team; the star player may be part of the starting eleven players. Halfling, Goblin and Ogre teams are an exception to this rule; they may have two star players, both of which can be part of the starting eleven players.

No inducements may be taken except goblins who make take up to 3 bribes at 50k each, and halflings who may hire a master chef for 100k.

Each team will be offered a skills package to enhance their players; this will be done on a tier system.
TIER 1 Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Lizardman, Norse, Orc, Skaven, Undead, Wood Elf
TIER 2 Chaos, Chaos Pact, Elf, High Elf, Human, Khemri, Necromantic, Nurgle, Slann
TIER 3 Halfling, Goblin, Ogre, Underworld, Vampire

The packages will be as follows:
TIER 1 = 4 normal skills
TIER 2 = 5 normal skills and 1 double skill
TIER 3 = 6 normal skills and 2 double skills

You may not assign more than one additional skill to any player and star players may not have additional skills added.

Games and Scoring

The first round will be drawn randomly, with all further rounds using the Swiss system. The overall winner will be the coach with the most points at the end of the day - there will be no final.

Points are scored as follows:
10 points for a win.
5 points for a draw.
0 points for a loss.
An additional point will be granted for each player on the opposite team that is knocked down by your team’s wizard.

Ties (for both Swiss and final winner) will be resolved as follows:
Ties to be determined on the following (in order) Head to Head, Strength of Schedule, TD difference, CAS difference

Casualty score in this case is casualties from BLOCKING ONLY (including "defensive" ones where the blocking player ends up injured and gives the intended victim a casualty point).

Things To Bring With You

A painted team.
Your Blood Bowl board.
Dice.
Templates.
Two roster sheets (one for yourself and one for your opponent). Please note that a copy needs submitting by the 14th of January 2017 for checking by the head ref (send to the admin email address used for payment).

Tournament Dice!

To keep the base cost down Wobble Bowl, unlike Wibble Bowl, will not be offering tournament dice as standard. Instead we are going to offer them as an added extra!

So all entrants to the tournament can add a set of white WYBBL dice for the sum of £2.50 per set, this offer will also be extended to WYBBL league members for £2.50 per set, and to everyone else at £3.50 per set (plus postage and packaging).
This will be subject to meeting a minimum order requirement (and payment collection) before the 30th of November 2016.

I've submitted this for approval via the tournaments interface, is there anything else I need to do/anyone else I need to communicate with?
