As the subject says, what is the NAF going to do to help those of us who aren't about to have a really high rating become better coaches?
So this is less about team development and more about playing the game.
Cheers, and best wishes on my first post here,
Martyn |

Martyng: It's good to see you over here. I'm sure that the NAF staff will be posting here soon, but I have a quick answer for you. This forum is an NAF membership benefit, and I think it will eventually have content to rival talkbloodbowl - especially if it keeps going down. Also, the NAF has put out the call for tactics articles, and I know that several people have expressed interest. As you probably know, good LRB tactics articles are very hard to find.
Plus you get those black block dice, which are very intimidating to non-NAF members. Well, they're intimidating once they stop rolling skulls all the time. |

Just repeating what I've heard, as I don't have my dice yet. A lot of people have said they seem to get a lot of the old smiley, though. |

I plan on intimidating everyone I play with my Black Block Dice Of Doom... might not actually roll them though if what i've heard is true.
Going back to the topic it will be nice to see some LRB tactics articles as most of those found on the net are good but not tailored to the LRB. It's always nice to get a fresh perspective on things. |

Well, mathematically that makes a lot more sense as the odds are 2 in 6 |

My Black Block Dice roll lots of Defender Down results. But it didn't help me one jot at the dutch open, however! The lesson here is: Black Dice Are Nice Unless The Koach Is An Oaf. Or something like that!

I agree with you Skummy. The forums here will explode due to the fact that we have no where else to go! Also, because the NAF is a membership only site, the quality of topics/responses should be good (but it didn't keep me away muahaha).
In all honestly though, I just joined for the block dice. I don't get to tourneys often, because tickets to the UK are expensive. GenCon will be my 1st tourney, but thats only because its 2 hours away |

As well as the site being a central location for user submitted articles based around team tactics, there are plans afoot to produce commented match reports. Rather than a simple written account of a match, it will include commentaries from both coaches to give an insight into why they make particular moves, as well as a post-match analysis to highlight good and bad plays.
Also, I personally am producing a hints & tips document based around the last 5 or so years play.
The trouble with BB is that you cannot simply say "perform this play and you will always beat dwarves" as it is not that kind of game - the best advice the better players can offer the less experienced players is more of a general idea, rather than a specific example.
It's a good question though, and I'm glad you've asked. When I post new tactics documents, I'll try and remember to leave a note on this forum for you!
And remember, it doesn't take much to scribble some thoughts down in word or whatever and send them in - we have a team of people here working to reformat and represent all the submissions. All we need are your thoughts in writing! |

I'm halfway through an article on tournament play for the site (Having got a few tournaments under my belt now). It's aimed at helping players who may not have been to a tournament before get over some of the hurdles that a lot of people face.
I hoped to have it ready for the BB but work decided to intervene with yet more 60 hour weeks. |

I may put together a 'how to do alright most of the time but disintegrate at tourneys' document:
1. Roll skulls and 1s.
2. Drink beer.
Hey wait, I'm done! |
