last year we had the first official NAF Swedish Championship at Lincon.
I'd like to repeat the event again this year.
Would there be sufficient interest to hold a tournament? We had about twenty last year.
Is there anyone else interested in helping run the tournament? |

The tourney would be run at the Lincon convention...one of the "Big 4" games cons over here. That would put it on the *checks* 20th May (I think, as it usually runs on ascension weekend)...and if I remember right thats horribly close to the Blood Bowl (two weeks after I think). Bear in mind I have no control over that date, and I REALLY don't have the time to organise anything from the ground up atm, so Lincon - which went really well last year - seems a good place to hold it. (aslo helps attract people who may not want to travel just for a BB tournament or who can travel with friends)
The good news would be that it should be dirt cheap to come over...Ryanair fly to a town thats no distance at all away...the bad news is that you'd have to sign up for the whole con...which is fine if you're swedish and play a few other games (especially Magic), but a bit much otherwise. |

i'll be there. however i can't offer any help that would stop me from being able to participate as
1. i spend that energy on local tournaments
2. i need to focus to improve my results (finished 18 out of 20... or something like that i think  )

But you won the right matches, and are the 2:nd ranked coach in Sweden  !
I got to the semi-finals, and I´m the last ranked coach in Sweden   !
Hopefully, I also can make it to this years tournament, but nothing is for sure yet (I shall move to a new apartment around those dates). |

Well, nice to hear that last years tournament was appriciated.
I have no possibility to attend this year though, sadly. My grandfather turns 90 on the friday (21st) in another part of the country and my presence is needed there. So I can't organize or participate this year.
Maybe we could reschedule it for Sydcon in august instead?

OK. I'll get in touch with Lincon and try and organise something...if I can make it myself! (worst case scenario I come down on the thursday evening. Am scheduled to work atm)
I'm still waiting on the Gothcon people too.

| Update: I have just sent away an intresseanmälan to the Lincon people. More details when I get them...but I've said 1.1 million swiss format, 1 skill per game. |

...and they've replied! They wanted to know days I'd prefer, space required.
Last year we had twenty. I said I wanted at least that many this year, but expected around the same. Also, I can't make it down until the afternoon of the thursday at the earliest, so hopefully the tourney will be friday-saturday.
Now I need to get my Laptop back in usable condition to run this thing. Could be tricky seeing as I know NOTHING about computers. |

I´m planing on going to Lincon again. What kind of help do you think you are needing? I a´m planing to bring a team and join the tournament but if there is anything i can do without messing me joining the tournament i think i can help you. |

| Thanks for the offers of help. Really all I need right now (apart from some details from the lincon people) is to get my Laptop back in a usable state so I can run the tourney on it. Anyone in the Uppsala/Stockholm area who is good with computers drop me a PM... |
