Ok, so there are only 2 3e BB Zombies + the 2e Zombie. I want 4 unique ones for my necro team. So...

I plan on converting a 2e human lineman (probably #2) into a Zombie for my Necro team. Any converting tips to deaden them up a bit? Tips on cutting away pieces, etc.

I figure someone must have done this before. If not I'll just wing it Very Happy

One of the guys in the local GW store made BB zombies by using the plastic WH zombies. He just used small balls of green stuff to make shoulder pads, helmets, etc. They didn't even need to be that accurate as zombies are meant to look shabby Smile Of course, they were easily posable due to being made of thin plastic.

He also made werewolves by putting dire wolf heads and tails on a rat ogre body and using some green stuff to join the gaps on the neck - fur is pretty easily modelled. They look damned scary too as they were huge!

It looked a really nice team but he kinda lots interest in painting them and went onto something else...

you could always use plastic zombies with space marine shoulder pads. if you wanted to get really silly you could set the bodies on 2nd ed plastic human legs. a guy in my league did that and it came out really well.

Yeah hit the Undead WH range. Or even check out the last White Dwarf for Ideas. There's a lot of converted Zombies in one of the Battle reports, one in an OZZY shirt giving the old "hand horns" Mr. Green

I'd go about it by just doing some simple head/limb swaps using WHFB zombie parts....rough up the pads and you're away.

I found Kroot shoulder pads worked well. They would certainly be far superior to Space Marine ones anyway.

I made all my Zombies from figs I had lying around. For a Human Zombie, I used a Human Lineman from the BB set, cut off half his torso and replaced it with the ribs of a Skele from the old Heroquest game and the head I used from a Zombie in Heroquest.

I did similar things to make a Zombie orc, elf, goblin. I am working on a Skaven and Saurus to complete them. I am using the Cursed Company figs from GW as their base.

If I could figure out how to take pictures and post them, I would love to.

I made my zombies and skeletons by cutting up the plastic human linemen and throwers and combining them with plastic skeleton and zombie torsos, arms and legs. Just mix and mingle, as long as you don't use the basic plastic zombie hands and heads (way too big and silly hair) you can't go far wrong and by using orginal bloodbowl humies they'll look like BB players without any fuzz Smile

Since it seems you are going with an all metal theme, I would suggest looking into the old Necromunda plague zombies. If I recall they do have weapons in their hands but that is easily remedied. All it would take after that is some green putty shoulder guards and maybe some knuckle dusters to cover the hands that were holding weapons.
