Coming up on March 12-14 in Butler PA, I will be running a Bloodbowl tournament at COSCON(http://www.circleofswords.com/cos/sitehtml/cons/coscon.html). The tournament is being held on the 13th and the morning of the 14th. Friday Evening, the 12th, I will be giving demos. All Info about hotel information and whatnot can be found on COSCON's site. This is a fairly large gaming convention(not nearly as large as Origins or the pristine GENCON, but a good convention none the less. I wanted it to be NAF sanctioned and so forth but my submission was late. Apparently you have to be on the ball and submit it 3 months ahead of time, oh well maybe next year. I hope to see some of you there......

The rules are as follows and if you have any questions e-mail me at jediknightamoeba@yahoo.com

The tournament will be held on Saturday March 13th and 14th beginning at 9 AM.

The tournament will be a swiss style open tournament, rules are as follows:

- You may only play any one opponent once except in the semi finals and final
- Rosters will be made out with 1 million gold
- SPP's will not be awarded, rosters will remain the same throughout the tournament
- If any person is issued a challenge by another player they must accept or suffer a loss unless they can find a substitute to play in their place
- Any challenge that is declined will be considered a 2-0 loss and it must be used as one of your games towards the 3 minimum
- Star Players may be used at full price, not freeboot cost(Thrud may not be used)
- A modified version of 'Take Root' will be used as follows: Before every drive the treeman must roll a D6; On a 1-3 he takes root and his movement effectively becomes 0. He may still block and take actions as normal but may not "go for it" or leave the square he is in for any reason until the next drive when he rolls again. On a 4-6 he may take actions as normal.
- Halfling Master Chefs will have to pay 40k gp instead of the normal 20k for every extra die they want to roll before each half to see if they receive an extra reroll.
- During the course of the day you may play up to 5 games, and of these 5, your 3 best will be used to see if you advance to the semi finals.
- 4 teams will compete for the bloodbowl trophy in the semi finals, each team playing the other. Of those 2 games, the 2 best total scores will play in the final for the coveted bloodbowl!
- Tiebreakers for determining who plays in the finals will be, in respective order, Most Casualties, Most TD's, Least Casualties Against, Least TD's Against, Die Roll
- Overtime will be played in the semi-finals if needed
- Scoring will be determined as follows: 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 2 points if you lost by 1 TD, 1 point if you lost by 2 or more TD's, 1 point for every TD, -1 point for every TD given up, 1 point for inflicting most casualties in each game, Conceding will be worth 0 points
- All LRB teams and official teams will be legal for this tournament. Other teams that will be legal are: Snottling, Ogre, and Vampire.
- Other awards that will be given out are: Most Casualties inflicted, "Most Violent Player" award; Most casualties for, or "Roadkill" award; Best Painted Team award; and The best coach award which will be voted on after each game by the opponent on a scale of 1-10!
- You may add one skill that is normally available(not a double roll) to any player on your team after each game but no player may receive more than one skill over the course of the tournament. You must officially recognize each player that has received the skills before the game to your opponent.
- Every team will receive a free apothecary for the tournament. The obvious excepetion to this being undead teams and other teams that cannot have an apothecary.
- You must submit two rosters to the tournament organizer so they can be checked over and approved.
- Each game will be played in 2 hours and 15 minutes or less.
- Teams do not have to be painted, but if you are playing against a team that is painted the coach of the painted team will receive one handicap roll just as if he had a team rating lower than yours! The handicap table will be a modified version not the one found in the LRB.
- The Living Rulebook and all other pertinent rules such as the Fall Review update can be found at: http://www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/news.htm
-The handicap table we will be using for the tournament should a painted team be facing an unpainted team is: http://www.chubbleague.com/chubb/handicap.html We will use it as though the difference in handicap was 10.
-In effect to have the free apothecary, you must have an appropriate model to represent him/her.
