Humans? Take the Ogre. Give him block after the 1st game and you are in a much better position to handle not only other BGs but strength teams in general.

I'd probably go
1 Ogre
4 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
3 Line
3 RR
1 FF

That's only 11 players and no apoth, so if you want more players drop 2 blitzers for 2 linemen and a thrower (or 1 line, 1 thrower and an apoth) OR swap a RR for an apoth/lineman

I like the Ogre idea as well...I'm looking to play Humans in the next season and the Ogre was a definite...but I was thinking possibly taking only 1 Catcher, an extra Lineman, and FF instead.

I HATE Orges mate every time i've used them they have managed to do nothing

besides I know the Art of the assit as my main team is Halflings so Strength teams and Big Guys hold no fears for me

Then i would suggest getting a second thrower and dropping 2 FF. Having a second player with sure hands and pass has much better chances of helping you than having 2 extra FF.

Also, you should drop a lineman and get an apothecary instead. If the apothecary just saves a lineman, you're already better off than having the extra guy since you get to keep him on the field instead of having to wait for a kickoff to bring in reenforcement. If the apothecary saves anyone better than a lineman, you're *much* better off.

you need to take the ogre even if he does nothing he scares your opponent and is a good cage breaker. I also like Zombie's idea of taking another thrower

Hi All,

I was thinking of taking an ogre - in the end I'm going to go with:

3 Blitzers
2 Throwers
2 Catchers
5 Linemen
3 Re Rolls
5 Fan Factor

I like this cos it's got a reserve plus the 2 throwers!
This'll be my first tourney so I'd really be interested in how everyone did with different teams, and what they would have taken if they had a chance to play it again!

Skill wise I'll probably get tackle on a blitzer, Guard on the other 2 before maybe getting kick on a thrower and block on the catchers

Regards,
Steven

Don't take more than 1 FF. Use the money you saved to turn linemen into catchers or blitzers. Drop the 12th player and replace him with an apoth if the rules allow one. It will be much more helpful.

I'll take Zombies advice next time, I'd definately go for a 4th Blitzer and maybe an Ogre.

I lost 5 games out of six at the Blood Bowl! Great weekend though! Smile

Very Happy

I tooled up to take on running teams (put tackle on blitzers etc.) and ended up playing against Khemri, Undead & Chaos Dwarf teams.

Never mind, we live and learn! I'm going for a strengh team next year! Twisted Evil

I don't know what your definition of a running team is, but to me, Khemri, Undead and Chaos dwarf are some of the best examples. They sure as hell don't pass the ball.

I feel that a running team is entirely based of how the coach themselves play the team. I've know wood Elfves that were "running teams". Basically my thoughts on what a running team is:
A team that get a potentail ball carrier or the ball carrier into scoring position through a slow march down field.

Therefore, "Undead types" & "dwarf types" in general exceel at this tactic
yet other teams like dark elf and skaven are VERY scary and hard to stop when they use this tatic.

Sorry - yes my definition is a bit up the spout.

What I was trying to describe by the term 'running' was teams with high movement and agility, capable of moving quickly (elves & skaven)

Spiky

We generally call those agility teams, the very opposite of running teams (who generally have low agility).
