Come on down to the southland and try your hand.

Date: July 17, 2004
This will be a NAF Sanctioned Event

The Kudzu bowl will be held at Underground Games:
316 Pineville-Matthews Rd.
Charlotte, NC. 28226
704-543-0054
888-543-8805

The tournament will start at 10 AM. Rounds are based on a 4 min. time limit, so any round should last only 2 hr. 15 mins.

There will be a lunch break after the first round (12:15 – 1 PM). Due to limited space, only the first 16 teams that sign up will be allowed to play. We have also taken precautions against anyone having to take a bye.

Players are required to bring all game equipment needed.

The rules are as follows:

The rules from the latest edition of the Living Rulebook (available free from www.BloodBowl. com) are to be used unless specifically stated below.

All Teams will start at a Team Rating of 120 (1,200,000 gold pieces. )
No Star Players, No Ringers, No Freebooting.

All models in your team must be appropriate or converted Citadel miniatures. All models must be painted - this means more than an undercoat!

Only the official teams as of the 2003 rules review maybe entered. To clarify, these are: Human, Orc, Dwarf, High Elf, Skaven, Dark Elf, Chaos, Undead, Chaos Dwarf, Goblin, Halfling, Wood Elf, Norse, Lizardman, Khemri, Elf, Necromatic, Nurgle’s Rotters, and Amazon.

Teams must be written out on the official Blood Bowl team roster pad or the excel team roster available from the resources section of www.BloodBowl.com Bring at least 3 copies - One to the officials at registration, One for your opponent, and keep any others for yourself.

Make sure your team is correct as team rosters will be checked and any mistakes (even if not deliberate) will result in that player getting a yellow card.

MODIFIED RULES

WEATHER

The following weather table will be used for all games.
2-4 Very Sunny
5-6 Pea Soup Humidity/Heat (Treat as Sweltering Heat)
7-9 Nice/ Perfect Blood Bowl Weather
10-12 Pouring Rain

Each Coach at the start of each game will place 1 Kudzu Token on the field. This token acts as a non-moveable player with 3 ST/AG and having the Tentacle Trait.

KUDZU
The Tentacle trait for the KUDZU Markers is modified to read:
The KUDZU will use this trait when an opposing player attempts to dodge or leap out of the Kudzu’s tackle zone. Each coach rolls a D6 adding their ST or AG. If the result for the Kudzu is higher than the result of the moving player, then the moving player is held firm and may not leave the square or attempt to move any further. This does not result in a turnover.

No IP’s will be called for failure to move the turn marker.

To keep on schedule, we would appreciate it if you could play at quite a brisk pace with no time wasting please! Judges will time games that appear in trouble of finishing on time. If you are timed and do not finish within the four minute limit, your turn will be ended after exactly four minutes. Extensions may be given to matches exceeding the time limit due to consultation with a judge.

WIZARDS
You may purchase a wizard for your team for this tournament. Wizards cost 150k (including the Dwarf Runesmith) to have on your team. The Halfling team may purchase additional Chef rolls (instead of a wizard) for 60k each. Because of the nature of the tournament and the LRB rules, Undead, Khemri, and Necro teams may not purchase a wizard for their team (the Necromancer is already part of the team as the head coach).

TEAM BUILDING
All Teams will start at a Team Rating of 1,200,000 gold pieces.
No Star Players, No Ringers, No Freebooting.

After every game you may either
1. pick two skills for two separate positional Linemen/orc/elf ect…
2. pick a single trait for a Lineman/elf/orc
3. pick a single skill (not trait) for one of the other players on your team

You may not stack skills on players so only one new skill per player. Players may only take skills from their available skill categories. This system replaces the League and Star Player Points system in the Blood Bowl handbook.

CASUALTIES
All casualties/injuries that have been inflicted on your team, including death, are wiped away at the end of the game. In other words the team resets after every game. Skills accrued through the tournament will not be lost, even if the player dies.
Note: Apothecaries are still useful for bringing back injured players during the game.

STAR PLAYERS
None, 0, zip, nada.

JUDGING
In all matters, the tournament judges have the final say. However, if you believe the judge has made a mistake, feel free to point out relevant passages from the LRB or official FAQs.

If you notice a mistake was made (too many dice rolled, a player should have had to dodge, etc.) before another player piece has been moved, please fix the result, rerolling all dice. If another player piece has been moved, it is too late to change the result. If you feel your opponent willfully misrepresented something resulting in the mistake, please call a judge.

The “chess rule” for moving pieces applies: once you have removed your hand from a player piece, that move becomes official. Until that time, you may “take back” any move made with that piece. If you are “test-moving” a piece to determine where it can go, please place a finger on his starting square. Please note that this rule applies to the path taken as well; if you take your hand off a player after moving him on a path that requires a dodge roll, you MUST make that roll.

A “yellow card” is considered a warning. A second such offense will result in ejection from the tournament. Offenses resulting in a warning include (but are not limited to):

· Becoming combative with a judge or another player. If you have any rules questions, please call a judge to settle them.
· Mistakes in recording match results, skills acquired, etc.
· Repeated misrepresentation in the presence of a judge. While we recognize that everyone makes mistakes, a pattern of mistakes indicates sloppy play and/or cheating. Please make every effort to play according to the rules.
· Dropping, rather than rolling, the dice.

A “red card” is immediate ejection from the tournament. These penalties are reserved for cheating, blatant disregard for rules, and/or abusive behavior.

Hope to see you there. Please post any questions you may have or feel free to PM me.

The tourney will start at 11am, not the 10 am originally shown. Sorry a typo.

Hope to see many of you there.
