Assuming that you're allowed to take any players from any position of any race, and mix them all up together, with one big guy max. What would you take? What would be to you the ultimate tournament roster? For the purpose of this exercise, assume that rerolls cost 50k and that your team is allowed an apothecary whether or not it has undead players in it.

My team right now would go as follows :

1 Minotaur 110k
1 Wardancer 120k
1 Pro elf thrower 70k
1 Beastman 60k
6 Norse linemen 300k
3 Zombies 90k
1 Skeleton 30k
1 Apothecary 50k
3 Rerolls 150k
2 FF 20k
Total 1000k, including 14 players, 1 apo and 3 rerolls.

Skills : Block (Minotaur), Dirty player (Skeleton), Strip ball (Wardancer), Block (Beastman), Dirty player (Zombie), Dirty player (Zombie).
Double : Leader (Norse lineman).

Just the modeling work some people would do would be interesting. I'll have to think about a roster and post one later.

I was actually thinking of giving the beastman tackle instead of block since his main job should be roaming the back field. The main reason i went with block is because of my low esteem of tackle in tournament play.

I don't think that low AV is that bad when you have 14 players plus an apothecary, and most of your players have block. It's also nice to have a defensive line of 3 players that have AV8 and regeneration and only cost 30k. That goes a long way toward reducing casualties.

If you think it sucks, come up with your own! That's what this thread is all about!

Just for fun, here's what i think would be one of the worst teams ever. It's a combination of what i find to be the most overpriced players from all kinds of races :

2 Throw-ras 140k
2 Blitz-ras 180k
2 Flesh golems 240k
2 Wights 180k
2 Amazon blitzers 180k
1 Ghoul 70k
1 FF 10k

Of course you could make rosters much worse than this, e.g. a team of 11 skeletons, 1 FF and 66 assistant coaches, but that's too easy! I don't think you could make much worse than the above with only 1 or 2 FF, 0 assistant coach, 0 cheerleader, 0 money in treasury and less than 6 rerolls.

Other positions worth taking:
Stormvermin
Orc blitzer
Dwarf Longbeard/CD blocker
Gutterrunner (maybe instead of a thrower)
skink
saurus
amazon blitzer
pro elf blitzer

and i would like a skaven thrower instead of a pro elf

I have heard people say that the witch elves are very overrated, but they did not appear on your list. What is your take on them?

Witch elves are some of the best players in the game, as soon as they take block.

Those who think they suck are just pissed about frenzy being less powerful than it once was. But when you think about it, witch elves now have 2 traits, i.e. things that other players would require doubles to get. If anything, i find witch elves to be relatively better now than they were before.

Of course, i'm one of those who think that frenzy is one of the best skills/traits out there, and that jump up is very underestimated.

Same here... Witch elves and Norse Blitzers are two of my favourite players.

I think one game against the Norse or the Dark Elves should be enough to show you the value of Jump-Up.

However, Wardancers with this skill are unreal.

P.S. Could someone speak to JJ for me and get the rules modified so that my Treemen can get JU? PLEASE Very Happy

P.S. Anthony...not to hijack this thread...but can you get someone to pusht the button for the Spike! results?

My minotaur hunting days are less than recent. Right now it is Rat-ogre season! I know that thesde guys can be quite nasty. They have great stats with the S5 A3 and M6 they are firghtful enough, but then the prehensile tail can even make it harder to get away from these guys. Scary big 'uns to be sure!

What is the general consensus on how these guys rank up against a minotaur? 'Cuz I think I might like to have a Rat Ogre on my ideal team.

4 mummies: 440k
1 Amazon Blitzer: 90k
4 zombies: 120 k
4 skeletons: 120 k
1 Longbeard: 70 k
3 RR = 150 k
1 ff

blitzer -> sure hands
Then some dirty players on the cannon fodder and finally guard on the longbeard.
No big guy because the extra players are more important in this kind of team.
If the blitzer is gone I'm screwed but what the heck, living on the edge! Smile

I like both the same. AG3 and prehensile tail are great on the rat ogre, but horns works wonders on the minotaur. Best bang for your buck, in my mind, is the minotaur, at 20k less.
