Thought I had posted these.... well guess not! Here they are for your perusal and comments - plan is to use them in the Challenge of Q'ermitt tourney in March!

Goblin Stadium Rules

Slippery surfaces:
The pitch is a mess of boggy swampland and slippery rafts. Any roll to ???go for it??? will result in the player falling (and a resultant turnover) on the roll of a 1 or 2.

Bribing the Ref:
Each coach will have 5 gold pieces (actual tokens will be supplied) with which to bribe the ref. These can be used in two different ways.

1) You are arguing the call for a penalty (illegal procedure or fouling)
2) The Bribe a ref result on the kick off table.

Each gold piece surrendered when making a bribe will add 1 to the dice roll, in the case of arguing a penalty, this will mean that 1 gold piece will ensure that you are not ejected from the game (the greedy gobbo is looking for more handouts!) and 5 gold pieces will ensure that your argument is ???influential??? enough to be ensured success. The ???rule of 1??? does not apply in this case!

When bribing the ref as a result of the kick off roll, then both players decide how much gold they want to augment their roll, and then roll the dice. The winner gets the free turn, and does not have to move their turn counter, and may not be called for an illegal procedure.

Goblin Cowardice:
Goblins prefer to pick on the weak and the stragglers and as such will focus their evil attentions on those who are separated from their mates. Whenever the fans (as a result from the kick off table) are required to "randomly determine a player" then you should determine one of the players on the pitch who is not in the tackle zone of another player (friendly or otherwise) - the player may be from either team.

For example - if there are five players on both sides who are not in tackle zones then they should be assigned numbers 1-5 and then a d6 could be rolled, ignoring the result of a "6"

Holes in the pitch:
Should there be a crocodile attack on the pitch, then there will be a permanent hole in the pitch. Place a hole marker on the spot where the croc attacked. For the rest of the game this will be treated as an impassible square and any player who enters that square, will be removed from play as though they had been pushed into the crowds (with the appropriate injury roll).

If the ball should land in the square then it is will be noted that the ball is made from an inflated pig bladder and therefore floats - it may be retrieved from any player in an adjacent square. In this case the only tackle zones that would apply are the ones that are directly touching the player trying to get the ball.

Kick off table:

2 - Waaaagh! The rowdy gobbos gets so infused with the violence (and promise of more to come) that they begin fighting amongst themselves. The game is delayed for d3 turns as the players wait for the fans to wear themselves out enough to allow them to continue playing.

3 - What???s da score? The scorekeepers have been too involved in the more violent aspect of the game (or their fungus beer) and have not been keeping proper score. Both teams should move their turn markers over one turn while the mess is sorted out.

4 - Bribe the ref! Bribery is a common practise in the game of Blood Bowl, and it is far worse when dealing with goblin refs! The coaches may offer their bribe to the ref and then roll a d6. If the kicking team wins, then they may move d6+5 of their players. They should not move their turn counter, and cannot be called for an illegal procedure. If the receiving teams wins, then the kicking team is unaware of the double cross and must move one player one square and will then be called for an ???illegal procedure???. The kicking coach must give up one re-roll if he has one, or the receiving coach may gain one if he does not.

5 - Croc attack! A hungry crocodile attacks a player on a raft section, roll for injury and leave a permanent hole in the board. (Randomize which team is affected and then determine the affected player).

6 - Bad Kick ??? As per normal kick off rules.

7 - Weather change ??? As per normal kick off rules

8 - Take that ya git! A rowdy gobo has half finished his bottle of fungus beer and decided that perhaps one of the players would like to finish it for him.
. After this is done, roll another d6, if a 6 is rolled, the gobbos are not done! Randomly select another player, injury etc. (this could result in several players being injured - but that's what you get when you play with gobbos!)

9 - Yer mutha wuz a cave troll! - The jeering, squeaky voices of the goblin fans are irritating at the best of times, but there is one group of grots that is being down right insufferable! Enough is enough! Time to sort them out! Both players roll a d6, whoever scores highest sends the player closest to the side line (randomize which one) into the reserve box as he jumps in to the crowd to deal with some obnoxious fans. If the players??? rolls are tied, then both teams will send a player in! The player(s) should be placed in the reserves box and will miss the next drive.

10 ??? Aaargh! My foot! - Both players roll a d6 (reroll ties), whoever rolls the lowest has had a slight mishap affect one of his players (determined randomly by players who are on a raft section). By chance the player???s foot has become stuck in between the planks of the rafts, and they struggle to pull it free. Put the player prone (but do not roll for injury) - this will represent the time spent freeing themself.

11 ??? Dey???z not so tuff! - The goblin fans (with drunkness and numbers to bolster their courage) decide to test their mettle against the ???weaker team???. Whichever team is losing will be attacked by the fans as they invade the pitch as per a ???pitch invasion??? result. But let???s face it, they are only gobbos, so only d3 players are injured. If both teams are tied, then both teams have d3 players affected

12 ??? Goblin riot! A goblin riot in full swing is truly a sight to behold (from a very safe distance!) It has long been a source of wonder that these diminutive creatures can cause so much damage when they put their minds to it. Whatever has set them off this time however has got them going full and proper! Bottles, rocks, bricks, smaller goblins are all lobbed on the field and the players must take shelter in their dugouts to wait out the storm of debris. Roll a d6 for each player on the field ??? on a 1 they are hit and must make an injury roll ??? stunned players will miss the next drive. Roll for both teams. Once this has been resolved, each player must move their turn counter forward d3 turns to represent the time it takes to get the fans to a ???safe??? level of frenzy!

---EDIT - Changes have been made - suggestions by Mordredd have been made as to the "stragglers". Also special rules for what happens with the hole in the board - in case of croc attack.

For the sake of clarity you need to distinguish between "players", as in you and me, and "players", as in the little plastic and metal men that make up our teams. Replacing the former with "coaches" should work well. Wink

Also 10 talks about a player's foot getting caught between the planks of a raft section but requires you to randomly select one that is not on a raft section.

And the results tend to pick on the loser, so go one up and you're laughing. It might be a good idea to try to even things out a little. Perhaps a "pick on the stragglers" result where they go for any player who is on his own, i.e. not in another player's tackle zone (friend or foe).

Other than that looks good to me.

Thanks for the heads up on those inconsistencies and typos Mordredd. I will also give some more thought to the underdog issue and how I might word it to have them picking on stragglers as you suggest.

In putting together the tourney rulebook, I have rconsidered some of the pitches, and am toning down the "sepecial rules".

For the goblin pitch - this would mean that the "bribing the ref" rules will be considered optional. Both players must be in agreeance to use them.

Otherwise you have a slippery board with some rowdy fans. Still a fun board, but perhaps a little smoother (to help ensure quicker game play).
