This is announcing the first annual Philly Phrakus Tournament.

It will be a 5 (or 6) round, swiss style tournament.

We got a bit of a late start so some things are still being ironed out, but we've got the dates and the venue (Fat Cat Comics in Downingtown, PA http://www.fat-catcomics.com).

Rules will be LRB 4.0 with a few changes. Star Players are allowed although Secret Weapon stars only for Goblins.

The website for the tournament is http://www.sju.edu/deckman/philly_phrakus . It is still under construction but I should get it mostly finished by next week.

Contact me or KarlLagerbottom with any questions.

Hope to see you all there.

As Jay said above, the site is still under construction. However, Jay has a working registration link...so you can sign-up now.

P.S. Can a moderator please make this thread a "Sticky"? Thanks in advance.

sounds good. I should be able to round up a couple. I know that some others will be traveling/going to law school.

Hey Bampf,

Thanks for signing up. So far 2 more from you league have joined as well.

I'll be getting word out to all the local stores in the next week or so. Hopefully, we'll be able to get a lot more of the local players as well.

I have the code for a mailing list already written. Just give the word and I can set something up on bampf.com.

I think you ll see a lot more from my league coming on board. At least 4 or 5 more I d wager. Probably more.

Cool.

I should probably be able to get a least 2-3 of my friends as well.

Now we just need to get all the local players out.

I am very interested to see if our Blurb in White Dwarf actually brings anyone in.

well done, Jay... glad that last winter's snowstorm didn't dampen your resolve to host a tourney in your area... topic is now 'stickied'...

Thanks OMM. I have to give some credit to KarlLagerbottom (Rob) for getting the idea rolling. He was really the spark that got us rolling.

Now I just have to hope we don't get an April Snowstorm. Smile

Thanks for the recognition Jay, but you are the guy who is taking the baton and running with it...I hope we get a nice turn-out and possibly some NAF representation to sign up new members at the event. (CyberHare, OMM, Etc...Hint-Hint.) Smile

I don't think I'll be able to attend. This is going to be a bad year for tournaments. I'd like to go but as it stands I haven't got any days left of vacation time. I'd love to go but it's looking very doubtfull Crying or Very sad

This one's right on top of Celebration III and the wife's birthday so I'm pretty doubtful. Perhaps next year...

I love that all these tourney's are popping up Very Happy

As usual, I am interested but I am not looking forward to the 7+ hour drive. I will have to think about it some more...

Do you have a schedule yet? How late will it go on Sunday?
