Hey there Fellas!

I'm in an interesting situation with my human thower that I want to open up for discusssion. He just rolled doubles on a new skill and my previous rolls got him accurate and a strength upgrade. So My ST4 Thrower with accurate gets his choice for new skills. I was thinking as he spends a bit of time on or near the line as a deep toss, two dice blocker that I might just be boring and choose Block. Am I nuts? I have also thought about maybe break tackle as an alternative so he can make those yummy elf like anything but a 1 dodges. Suggestions?

(I'm also looking for a good choice for a new regular skill to give my Blodging Guard Blitzer. Tackle? Mighty Blow?)

Strong Arm might not be a bad choice. It sort of works fluff-wise since he is STR 4 and also opens the field for you a bit.

EDIT: Or Dodge might be better in the long run, since Block would be the next natural skill. STR 4 Blodging Thrower? Or How about Nerves Of Steel?

Dodge would be very effective. Guard is also an interesting option ... Humans can never get enough Guard. I wouldn't get Break Tackle ... Dodge makes you statisticallly better at dodges and protects you from blocks.

I would go either with Nerves of Steel or Dodge. Either will help him to enhance his role as thrower. Dodge may help him to keep from getting knocked on his butt too!

Block may be boring, but it helps! That would be my choice as a next skill for the guy (unless you TOTALLY luck out and get +1 AG!)

I'd definatly go with Nerves of Steel, that skill is gold for a thrower or a catcher.

I agree with this...
"Nerve of Steel" is a Must to a Thrower, in my book.
But dodging away is also very very important too.

I like Strong Arm personally - makes your passing plays a lot more likely. But with Str 4, he's also a very viable option for a running play as well, and as such the usual Block/Dodge is a good combination as well.

I would go with Dodge every time. I guess it depends on your playing style, though...

if you pass a lot, accurate + strong arm is a deadly combo!

if you prefer a more defensive sorta game, go with dodge

I'd take Dodge - with S4 give him block next and he'll be a nightmare running back.

I prefer to avoid Strong Arm on Human Throwers - I try not to encourage myself to pass long Smile

FYI: I chose Dodge, as block will always be there and he always seems to need some extra room to throw. My next game against high elves they knocked me over three times with block linemen. Both Down Both Down Both Down There wasn't an offensive touchdown scoered in the game and the elves won 3-2. I'm not unhappy with my choice as I used my new dodge to get him to the football and score one of my TD's, but just goes to show that in Bloodbowl it don't matter what you choose 'cuz dice don't have any friends. Wink

Yea, thats true,

its also pretty safe to say that if you ignored the doubles and chose block, you would have seen alot of Pushback/Pow
