I noticed a huge number of carved wood display bases at the BB, such as the one used by the High Elf team that made it into the top three painted teams.
Anyone have an idea about where you can get these from, without knowing a carpenter or something? |

I made one myself for the Golden Deamon from a bit of... I think it was a lid from a wooden cigar box? Anyway, I roughly cut out a wobbly shape and sanded it smooth and then based it the same way as I base my models.
There's a pic of the base on the web, not something special though. I can upload it as soon as solegends.com is back online.[/img] |

| I think you can get them at the same places you can get Cups and Trophys made/engraved (keycutters, shoe repairers, that type of thing). If not, ask them where they get theirs from, they might be able to supply them. |

Hurrah! Solegends is back online (if only TBB could be that quick  )
Anyway, here's my smashing display base (no sniggering please...):
All in all it cost me about 1,5 - 2 hours from lid to finished base
