Does this mean that the Eurobowl format allows for more than 8 Coaches? I know they are limited to 8 Teams per country, but you could have say 11 coaches that can be there to alternate rounds?
Also, am I reading that correctly that if a coach plays Skaven, for example, that he can only play with that Race throuought the tourney. Even if there is some coach rotation, each coach can only play with one race for the full event.
I think a cool twist on that is to have Each Team have 5 racess, and then each of those five coaches has to play each race from his team at least once. This might be a cool way to guage the overall ability of a given team's coaches...regardless of which race they play.
(It might also have the side benefit of setting up a pre tourney dynamic where members discuss the roster make-up for eeach of the five teams before hand so that it is mutually beneficial to each coach...and maybe even have a sort of "Training Camp" where each coach gets some time in playing each of the races that will represent "Team Kalamazoo" for example.
Hmmm... |

I believe it means that the 5 teams are set for the event, however you may rotate your coaches among those 5 teams as you wish from round to round.
I also like the idea of "seeding" coaches 1-5. (Easy enough with NAF rankings.)

Yeah, but which would be the relevant rankings? Would you use your highest ranking as per NAF? Would you use your lowest? Would you use the ranking that you had with the same team you plan on using at this Tourney? What if you never played a tourney with the roster that you plan on using for this...would you start with the default 150? How would that work?

I like the random playing. the ranking can be gamed. IE: I know Brian would play amazons, so I choose to play dwarves or something like that.
You could also set your skills up as you know who you're playing against in the next round. So I like not knowing who my next opponent is so this can't be done.
From my understanding of the coach swapping: It allows more than 5 coaches on the team but the switching can only occur between the two coaches playing the same team. |

Lets not get too out of hand with rules speculation. A specific rule set will be used for this event which will be largely based on the Eurobowl but not exactly. Give me the weekend to sort it out exactly and then I'll post it up. There's a reason that we'll be using a specific rule set that will become apparent before the event. No it has nothing to do with PBBL or LRB.
Things I can confirm for sure at this time.
-All rosters a Team is fielding must be from different races. No duplicate races on the same team.
-All rosters must be TR 100
-Teams will be paired off based on the combined NAF ranking of the teams coaches for the first round. Following rounds will then be Swiss style matchups. (of course for our purposes that means you'll play each other team once so it's essentially round robin.)
Individual Win = 1 point to your Team
Individual Draw = 0.5 point to your Team
Individual Loss = 0 points to your team
As for the multiple coaches and team swapping I have to look into that. At this point in time my best idea of how it'll work is this. A team may be made up of more than 5 coaches but may only field 5 rosters. Coaches may sit out a round and reserve coaches can take their place. That's how I believe it's going to work. I'll confirm that for sure early next week.
Other than that we're not going to re invent the wheel here. Basic LRB4.0 rules. Standard skill progression and roster resetting. |

Waiting patinetly for the official rules since apparently we are not allowed to speculate or discuss.

Sorry that's not what I meant. Man you clean up one thread and yer the soup nazzi for life. I simply meant that there is already a set of rules layed out for this event. Discuss at will. Simply meant that the discussion may not be taken into consideration when spelling out the rules.
No more spooning for you Rob. |

How many teams do you have at this point?
From the posts:
DC
Philly
Canada (partial)
Is that correct? I am wondering if I should try and put a team together, or see if anyone has free spots on thier team?
We have a 16 person leaguein Selden, NY. |

Quote: Typical TBBF Response right there from what I hear...
Me and Ben...Ben and Me...You Are Part Of Team Canada...not team "Ben and Co."
Besides...we all saw what happens when you're not on Ben's coat-tails. Look at the Q'erMitt finals...two words...
BEAT
DOWN
He he, yea but what do you expect when the TBBF is a bunch of cockey SOBs
Actually, Ben will be a part of team "Paul and Co" if we go
Yea, Q'ermitt finals wasn't too fun. Course, I did lay the beat down on him earlier in the day, and the game at the Deathbowl.
I'll bring this up with the TBBF to see what kinda interest there is. It might just be a Team Canada though. |

sorry Spazz, let me edit that....
Yea, Q'ermitt finals wan't too fun playing Ben.
Still, trying to score with only 6 Dwarfs on the field in OT was a blast though. I got the ball all the way up to the Line of Scrimage before Bens 11 Dwarfs managed to overwhelm me. |

It's not looking good for getting a team Montreal together so Paul & Ben if you guy's want to get together a team Canada I'd be up for that. We can get Rod and Garth together maybe to round out the team. |

Get a team together. At this point there's no reserved spots so it's first come first serve. |
