Okay I have to admit ... I wish this tournament was closer. Maureen has hit upon a tournament concept that I just think is too cool to miss. I don't say this about many events, but I wish the ArisiaBowl was closer OR that I had the cash lying around I had when I was a bachelor so I could just go.

Just confirmed two more prize sponsors! Danger Planet is providing 2 more boxed team sets (total of 6 ), and Pandemonium Books is providing a set of Blood Bowl novels and a store gift certificate.
Although I could only reserve a big block of time on Sunday for the tournament, it will be quite easy to fit in pick-up games in the game room on Friday and Saturday.
Cheers,
Maureen |

And the prize support keeps rolling in! Your Move Games in Somerville is providing an assortment of command packs suitable to convert to coaching staff. My goal is to have enough prizes for everyone who plays. The entry fee for the convention includes lots of snacks and drinks in the Con Suite, and everyone should get to take home some figures |

Ok, I registered for the tourney but will hold off on registering with Arisia until I'm sure I can make it. Just landed on a tough weekend for me this year, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to swing it. Team is TBD, but I popped Voodoo in as the name. |

There must be a rule.
He or she who speaks the score of the Pats game shall be destroyed.
That is all. |

Picked up the take-home trophies this morning. Packing up now to head in for the Friday night open gaming.
And finished varnishing up my new Impact Snow Troll yesterday. 2 Linewoman have switched over to Strikers (Ulf-thingies) on blue base rings. The Valholl Swanmaidens are ready to hit the beach on their first Norse outing |

Well, the ArisiaBowl Grand Minors Tournament was quite fun. We will definitely be keeping this format for next year Arisia will be back at them same hotel on the MLK weekend, the tourney will be on the Sunday, there will be open BB games on Friday night and Saturday, mark your calendars!
Glenn Black was this year's champion, up from last year's spoon winner. He played Nurgle's Rotters on the Impact Street Bowl pitch and scored most TDs and most Casualties. He also took Best Painted team again.
Full results will be posted once Rob gets the 4 new NAF members entered. Fortunately, he still had some dice sets left from the Brouhaha so we could sign up folks on the spot and hand them dice.
We had 10 players, with 4 each of Street & Oz 7's pitches, and 1 each of Beach & 7's.
2 days of open gaming at the con helped out great. We had several players who brushed up on the rules at the Con and decided to borrow teams and pitches to join the tourney. I'll have to prepare some more pitches for next year. And I suspect some of the players will get their own too.
Cheers,
Maureen |

I entered three of them:
Critter (NAF ID: 9923) = Joe Hertz
Kyosokun (NAF ID: 9924) = Iziah Gile
Mpapajohn (NAF ID: 9925) = Matt Papajohn
The fourth appears to already be a member but was not aware of it when he signed up at the tournament:
Macross (NAF ID: 9842) = Douglas Akin
I will get Douglas' membership extended by one year through the Membership Director.
Above is all the info you need to enter the results though |

Tourney results are now up here at NAF and on the ArisiaBowl site. At the ArisiaBowl site, you can check the Tourney Results to see the assortment of team types and their pitches.
I finally did some googling to find out when the MLK weekend is next year -- ArisiaBowl III will be on Sunday, January 21, 2008.
Rob definitely was our foul king. And 3 teams tied for most casualties, each with 6 for and 1 against. It was a slugfest. We only had 2 dashy teams this time. The spoon-winning Skaven coach brushed up on the game Saturday afternoon and borrowed my Scorpions to join the tourney. And Blazepoet was once again fighting to avoid the spoon like he did last year in the final game.
Cheers,
Mo |

Mo .... I really hope we can help you with the other 2 styles of pitches for next year. I love the format of your event ... great idea. We are thinking about trying to do this over hear maybe for the Slaughter next year (2008) or another event in Indy at some point.
The question I'd like to ask Mo ... is if we could hook you up with enough game surfaces ... would you remove the OZ 7s choice from the list? Not asking you to remove it ... just wondering if you knew that you had enough boards for the 3 non-standards if you remove the full sized pitch option?
