As much as I dream of representing Australia at the highest level of competition...as of right now I would have to say fill my spot with an ex-pat or local hero with cash! Wink I am not sure when the deadline is for team submission...but unless there is some big move on the gig front or a massive win in lotto...or perhaps we find sponsorship (?!?) than I will not be able to go.

I will keep you posted of course...but I would start to put out feelers if I were you.

Bevan was interested as well. There's a thread about Team Oz on TBB if you want to find the latest list I was organising. I had a few 'interesteds'.

Happy to add some kind of incentive too to be on the team. Maybe some small kind of NAF prize to all team entrants....

Sorry, as I told Doubleskulls and others at CanCon, I am definitely not interested in attending the World Cup.

Oz - the team's only need to be finalised by the end of the 1st day of competition - plenty of time for you to arrange some gigs Very Happy

Babs - I did look through here and TBB and that was all that was left of those who said they were interested.

That said if all those 5 make it then we only need one more to make a team which should be easy enough.

There is a distinct possibility that D'Aquebus (Daniel Hutchinson) and myself (Ben Tranter) may be up for such a trip.

It will require more planning closer to the actual event, but yes it sounds like a fun jaunt across to the mother country.

Woot! I can vouch for the quality of these guys. While D'arquebus didn't do well at CanCon - I can say that normally he gives me a very good run for my money. In our local league, the only reason he didn't beat me (Nurgle on my humans) was I grabbed the ball with my ogre and ran around for about 5 turns to avoid him scoring on me again. We drew. Kransky is an even better player, if what the other coaches tell me is true.

That's great. That would make 7 if everyone can make it. Maybe we could even get a 2nd team together Very Happy

At the moment we have the following people lined up. If you know of
someone else who is interested please ask them to contact me.

Confirmed
========
DoubleSkulls
Thomsy

Provisional
========
Sangraal
OzJesting
lord_shambles
D'Aquebus
Kransky
ShastaMcNasty

Since I'll be in the UK in a couple of weeks I can try to help out
with accomodation and/or transport - both advice or if necessary
seeing if I can russle up lifts or floors etc.

The team size is set at 6. At the moment I'm quite happy to act as a
spare so if we have 7 make it I'll join one of the UK teams.

The rules do have a clause in "There is a limit of one race per team,
so teams are to consist of six coaches fielding six different races."
So it would be good if we could agree before people actually fly who
will play what.

Please let me know up to 3 races you would be willing to play in the
order you prefer. In the event of two people wanting to play the same
race I'll try to achieve a consenus between them.

I think I'd remind you all that this is going to be a lot of fun and
so don't get too caught up in the competitive side. There will be much
more socialising and for many of you this will be a chance to meet
friends from FUMBBL or the other online set ups.

Finally - I think it would be really nice if we had some sort of
"uniform" - you all may seen my ECBBL shirts - and when you are in a
group they look quite impressive.I tried to organise some sort of team
T Shirt/polo shirt (green & gold of course) with nicks on them would
you be interest? About 20 pounds would be the low end cost of a t
shirt, up to 30 for a rugby shirt.

What? Not competitive?

Then we'll never win it and bring back the trophy and host the 2011 World Cup!

I'm committing (in spirit) to go in 2011 - it's much easier to get there if it's here in Oz!

Babs - I don't believe there is any commitment for the winners to host the next WC. Have you checked this recently?
