I'm going to Gen Con in Indiana this July. I hate to paint because I'm so poor at it. I have a few teams that are already painted by someone else but I'm not so sure I want to play them. The team I want to take isn't painted and I'm debating painting them myself or having them painted by someone with some talent.
So... do I give it a go and have some small sense of satifaction knowing I did the work (poorly) myself or...
Take a good looking team because my checkbook can support that? (not that it can but I can sell some stuff on eBay to pay for the job)
Who out there paints, can take on a job and get it back to me by July, and what would you want for the job? Can you send pics? My e-mail should be the little button below but I'll give it out here just in case. paddleforfun@attbi.com |

| Personally, I would rather take something I did myself regardless of how poor the paint job was. Believe me my first ones were piss poor. I'm glad that was a few years ago and I've gotten far more models behind me. Now I enjoy fielding my own pieces without shame! |

Yeah. I'm leaning that way too. I just love beautifully painted minis and I get disgusted wheh I see what I've done to them. I'm not saying I'm a bad painter. I just don't do the models justice and they deserve better.  |

| I'd paint them up myself. It's amazing what you can do with a black basecoat and some neat, flat colours. 7 years ago I painted like a mentally disabled newt and last year I was in the finals of the Golden Daemons. Okay, so you only have 2 months to paint... Well, just paint them in base colours then. That way you'll finish an okay-looking model in about 20-30 minutes and you will be satisfied knowing that you painted them yourself. And now I don't hope that anybody willing to sell his mini's to you is gonna shoot me... |

Paintin your own team is the best idea, ive been painting for about 12yrs now  (not all at once  ) and find it realy good to see your team finished and know that you did it. Good luck mate.

I'd go for the Chaos Dwarfs as they're the first BB team I ever painted. Back in the days when I was young. And tall. And handsome. And still a teenager. And the sun was always shining. And life was uncomplicated. Yadayadayadah...
