Since GW have stopped making my usual matt varnish spray (as they say it turns the model yellow although i have never found any problems with it) i am going to have to change brands.
I am guessing any spray matt varnish will work.
Any ideas on brands (I am UK based but am guessing other people might find other countries brands useful )? |

| Ben, I gave up on spray varnish and now use brush on varnish. Gloss then matt. |

| I don't know if you have access to it in the UK, but Testors Dullcote is my brand of choice... It's the flattest finish that I've ever seen. Smells pretty horrific too, much worse than regular spray paint, so make sure you have good ventilation. I'm with you on the undercoat/sealant issue... I only did that once, but it was with two of my heroes for Warmachine, I was somewhat peeved. |

| Dull coate is awesome. Much better than trying to do brush on. Otherwise Wattle Mat Estapol but it can clog up so do the whole team at once. |

yea that would be a bummer!  You could say thats one reason why I brush varnish but i prefer to because I have more control over a brush than I do a spray can. I also give an extra coat of gloss varnish to areas that will recieve more wear. For the record I use vellejo paints. |

I like using Testors paint-on dullcote, personally. This, however, requires a specific brush used ONLY for the dullcote though as it reactivates the paint and can seriously ruin a figure if the brush is dirty. It works great though all the same.  The big reason I don't like using dullcote sprays though is that it sometimes has the tendency to make the figure look fuzzy - essentially ruining it if you're not careful. The paint-on stuff removes this variable altogether and is a much safer choice in the longrun.
