Hi guys!

I made a search, but couldn't come up with what I was looking for...

I'd like to have the pros and cons of starting a Skaven roster with or without a Rat Ogre. It's an open schedule (challenges) league, where 4-6 games are being played before à mini two games tourney for one of the LRB 5 cups.

Any advices from experienced skaven coaches out there?

Thanks!

Fred

although the rat ogre is one of the better big guys i would steer clear for a starting team as hes just too expensive more than likely only leaving you with 10 other armour 7 and 8 rats. for the cost of him you can have a good running game with 2 gutter runners instead for the same price.
starting team for me would be 2 blitzers, 1 thrower, 3 gutter runners and 6 linerats with 3 rerolls and FF3
but thats just my opinion of course Very Happy

You can also change the Thrower and 1 FF for another Gutter Runner.

Any GR can throw decently with AG4.

yeah they are nice skills, but with the gutter runners extra movement the "passes" should always be complete on a 2+ anyway and with 3 rerolls that should be fine.

Gutter runners rule, except when they roll 1s Sad

My preferred starting roster for Skaven would be:

2 Blitzers
4 Gutter Runners
1 Thrower
4 Linerats
1 Apothecary
3 Re-rolls

I would recommend against starting with a Rat Ogre. Indeed, do you need one at all???

Hope this helps.

That`s what I would start with too. And for a 6 game league, I wouldn't bother with the Rat Ogre at all. If the league will continue, then get the Rat Ogre at the start of the next season if you take one at all.

Another possiblity is:

4 Gutter Runners
10 Linerats
3 Re-rolls

This is particularly effective for preventing the side getting demolished in the first 2 or 3 matches. Afterwards, you just need to buy an Apothecary and 2 Bitzers. And you forget about the Throwers, using a Gutter Runner to pick up and move the ball when receiving.

Keeps your TV nice and low too.

Hope this helps.
