LRB 5.0 page 24 Quote: A coach may not swap gold, players or anything else
between the teams that he runs. For example, he may not make
a ???special loan??? from one of his teams to another, or swap players
between the teams, and so on. Note that a coach can carry out
such actions between one of his teams and a team run by
another coach (assuming the other coach AND the league
commissioner agrees, of course!), he just can???t do it between two
of his own teams.
I believe that this qualifies as an official rule:
In league play, teams may trade players between games and can make gold transactions with other teams, as long as the teams do not have the same coach.
There is no further detail written in the LRB about trading players, so this raises questions. Do traded players have to be from the same team, or can trades be interspecies?
Can players be traded for gold? |

It all has to be done with the league commissioners consent - so its house rules. As far as I know not many leagues allow it because its too unbalanced. |

Looking at the whole paragraph its also clear this is all in reference to running multiple teams in the same league. Given the comment about commissioner approval being required (and on the same page about commissioner's word being law) its quite clear arguing this is an official rule that a league should abide by isn't sustainable. |

Trading players shouldn't be too unbalanced if you made them have Loner and/or Animosity. |

I'd as a Commish would consider it , but it would have to still fully respect racial/postional profiles
For example I couldn't trade a human catcher for a 5th human blitzer.
Or On a Skaven team, I'd not allow a "Bull Centaur" to be aquired.
Just my 2 cents |

what if you only allow 0-16 players to be traded and they get loner and reverse annomisity |

If you want to do trades you need to make sure all players know what the rules are in your league.
It would probably be best to run all trades "through the league office" i.e. the commish.
Certainly it would need to be carefully watched.
But it could be great for a "wounded" but experienced team to trade a vastly experienced star to a rookie team in exchange for 3 or 4 players, that they couldn't afford to hire themselves due to spiralling expenses. In this kind of situation both teams win.
You would probably need a rule stating that a team could not make a trade which resulted in them going below 11 players too.

Absolutely need to keep this balanced too.
I don't see it coming up too often, but I think it adds some flavour. I remember in my league at uni in 97 there was a famous trade of two witch elves between teams. One of them subsequently injured the other in a later game. Marvelous stuff! |

I have not played in a league which allowed trades.
However, my experience of allowing money to be given or lent in a league is that it quickly leads to distortions, often with unintended consequences.
I would therefore not recommend it.
Hope this helps.

Wouldn't the rules for creating a bloodbowl team still apply?
ie p16
All of the players in your team
must be from the same team list. So, for example, a High Elf
team may not include Human players because these players
come from a different team list.
The
team list also indicates the maximum number of each type of
player you are allowed to take for your team.
I know the league rules are considered optional but they do form a guide as to what is allowed, and we try not to have any house rules so just follow what the book says. |

Trading players between teams is NOT official rules. If you house rule it you can do whatever you want. That's what house rules are for! |
