I've had this troll for around 8 years sitting in a box. He was CAKED with old old purple latex paint to point where almost all the of detail was gone.
The other day I decided to rescue him from said paint and striped him.(which took like 3 hours)

The 3 gobbo's are the first of my Underworld team for the BOMBBL league here in ontario.

p.s That isn't a swaztika. Thats a finnish symbol. My gf is finnish and I said I'd put some finnish into my football team heh.

I like the "team colours".
The green of the flesh seems a bit "radioactive" to me, but it might be from the pic.
What other players are you planning on using in the team?

If they are Underworld gobbos then they eat and drink warpstone, hence the glow in the dark green. Laughing

The team has 1 troll 6 goblins and 6 skaven in the league so far.

I'm almost done with the 3 armed goblin and I haven't had my 2nd ed skaven arrive in the mail yet.

It could be the camera as there isn't enough light on my table, but I did want to go for a brighter then usual green for these guys heh.

I'm also turning out a Dark Elf 2nd ed team in Darkside Cowboys colours and getting the minis together for my chaos pact team with a 1st ed ogre. 2nd ed Human players..
Still looking for a lesser goblin model for my goblin renegade...*pout*

Erm, it is technically still a swastika, no? In the same way as if I had the Nike swoosh it would still be the Nike swoosh even if I called it the Mike swoosh?

I'm not criticising (just philosophising), just don't think I would want that symbol on my players!

Mike

You are technically correct.
It is different though. Much how the hindu swastika isn't the swastika that you thought it was.
To my knowledge the finns still use that symbol or a variation of that symbol to this day.

The decal is from flames of war and battlefront is pretty strict about keeping symbols that are illegal in some countries off of their products.
ie. no german swastika decals.
The fact that the product is similar to the german version, but still available in germany speaks for itself.

The swastika (from Sanskrit: svástika स्वस्तिक ) is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right angles, in either right-facing (卐) form or its mirrored left-facing (卍) form. The swastika can also be drawn as a traditional swastika, but with a second 90° bend in each arm. Archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates from the Neolithic period. It occurs mainly in the cultures that are in modern day India and the surrounding area, sometimes as a geometrical motif and sometimes as a religious symbol. It was long widely used in major world religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism.

Though once commonly used all over much of the world without stigma, because of its iconic usage in Nazi Germany the symbol has become controversial in the Western world.

The Neolithic period dates to around 8,500BC.

It is unfortunate that the swastika is now often seen as a negative symbol because of the Nazi. It has been an important cultural and religious symbol for thousands of years.

I agree.

It is kind of like how Ottawa was a great city, well respected until the BBers from our fine capital ruined it for everyone! Razz
