So, sorry for the grainy photos, but you should at least be able to see enough to get the idea:
Added handles to the ends for ease of travel:
All pretty easily done. Took quite a while, but that's mainly working and the desire to do nothing after a 10 hour day of clients.
Wooden frame with braces in the corners, stained to look nice.
Blue insulation foam board, covered in PVA drywall paint, then fine granule flock, brown spray paint, and flock.
I used a liquid scenic cement in a spray bottle to apply the two flocks, and to cover afterward to ensure it stays as pristine as possible.
Still working on the scoreboard. |

Awesome job!! It looks fantastic. Very cool idea adding the carry handles! You've inspired me to think about making one of my own. |

Always glad to inspire! I've got the balsa wood cut for the scoreboard (last night over a couple glasses of scotch) and shall be assembling this weekend at latest. Kinda in a crunch seeing as I plan on attending my first ever tournament at the Archie Bunker Brawl II! And my skaven aren't even painted yet... |

Looking great!
Congrats!
Hey, how about to spray/paint the name of the field (or maibe the home team) after the TD line?
And since your at it, you could upgrade it a bit with a center piece too (maybe the logo of your favourite team...)?
Just suggestions of course!
Cheers!

I think I'm going to leave it as generic as possible, with just the red and blue. It looks good, and I don't want to screw that up by doing a horrible paint job... I have built the scoreboard, but haven't attached it yet and no pictures. Very basic. I may try to put some symbol in the middle of the pitch, maybe the NAF logo... But man, life has been busy lately. I missed one tourney in Chicago, and looks like I can't make the Pegasus Bowl this weekend, let alone find time for painting... |
