The ECBBL, based in London, is starting its new premier league season on 24th Jan. The ECBBL is one of the best leagues in the world with great atmosphere and friendly coaches. We play upstairs in the Mason's Arms pub near regents park every Tuesday.

The ECBBL welcomes any new coaches to come and join us. If you want to play some facce to face BB, but can't commit to the schedule, we also have an unstructured open league.

      Quote:
It will be a 12 game season with new teams for everyone, taking us through until end of May/maybe mid-June. A final deadline will be agreed at opening night in an attempt to prevent the season from overrunning.

We will be using the CRP rulebook (plus Slann, Pact and Underworld). The season will be followed by playoffs consisting of a Wildcard round, Quarters, Semis and Final.

We will be split into 3 divisions. Play everyone in your own division, plus games drawn randomly against both of the other divisions. Drop-outs’ fixtures will be re-apportioned by the league commissioners.

First night games will be drawn randomly within your own league – after that, games will be up to you to organise. Top TWO in each division will qualify for playoffs plus four more as wildcards (overall numbers permitting).

Teams will be rated by points, TD difference, casualty difference. Further tie breaks, if necessary are in order TDs for, cas for, head to head record, coin toss, arm wrestle.

Only the four wildcards will play in the first round of the playoffs. Highest ranked wildcard to play bottom wildcard irrespective of whether they are in the same division. This will be full game where injuries and SPPs are to play for. Teams that win here could conceivably get a leg up over automatically qualified teams but they do have to play an elimination game - with injuries, so I doubt anybody is going to aim for this if they can qualify in a better position. Two wildcard winners join the top two from each division for the quarters.

Quarter-finals: top ranked division winner (rated as above, ie points, TD difference, casualty difference, etc) will be the number one seed for the playoffs, second best division winner will be the number two seed, other division winner will be the number three seed.

Each division winner will get the opportunity, in seed order, to choose their play-off opponent, as long as they weren’t in the same division (or another division winner). Two unselected playoff contenders will face each other (and winner will become seed 4). Winner of the 1 seed game will play the winner of the 4 seed game. The winners of the 2 seed and 3 seed will play in the other semi.

In the event of a tie in playoff games only, one half of sudden-death overtime is played. In the event that the game is still a tie, then a penalty shoot out will decide the winner. A penalty shoot-out is a single unrerollable dice each with remaining team rerolls left after overtime added to the result. Reroll ties (keeping the modifiers for rerolls). For the purposes of winnings and fame, the shoot out decides the winner and loser of the game.

Wizards and cards are not allowed at any stage of the season. Stars are allowed for regular season games but not playoff games. Mercenaries are available ALL the way through the season, including the final.

Just one final point, whilst some leniency is allowed in updating your team, please give consideration to your opponent and update with as much notice as possible. This is especially true at the end of the regular season where the top seeds get to choose. Playoff bound teams should update their teams before any choices are made/wildcards are played.

Most people come after work, so from about 5:30pm onwards, but some people are able to come earlier and play (I'm one of them).

I'm sure what your availability is, but the schedule should allow for the 12 games over around 16 weeks, and you can always arrange to play two games in a night or, since you'll know who your opponents are you can always arrange to play at other times and/or locations too. This season I managed to play 6 games in 4 weeks to finish on time, so its certainly do-able.

I'm not sure if anyone is Essex based, most live in London. Geggster commutes from Nottingham Shocked
