Ok, I was on TBB and read about the whole Legacy team thing and thought it was tremendously cool. I know there is a lot of overlap between the TBB and NAF (and if I'm stepping on any toes just let me know), but is there enough interest in painting a NAF legacy team?
-----
Fanatic has graciously sent us some vamps for this project/contest! We've got the Vampire Lord, the Six Vamps (two sets of two and two unique ones), Count Luthor (see below), and Three Thralls (two are the same) for the team.
That means there were ten randomly drawn painters, plus the Vamp Lord going out to Anthony! Ok, all eleven miniatures are on the way! In fact, two of you have already received them!!
The rest of us, myself included, will be doing conversions.
I'll be honest with you up front, there were two Vampire Lords in the package!!! I threw in Luthor to the mix to replace the second Vampire Lord, who now has a permanent home in my collection.
I'll be asking Andy to draw the random winner when all is said and done. Sound good? That being said let's talk specifics...

I really think this could be fun! On a selfish note though: I don't have a lot of minis to spare. I would go for Skaven, Human, Orc, Halfling, Goblin, Chaos Dwarf. If the board chooses otherwise, I,ll respect that and skip a turn !

I'd be in for it, definitely. I never seem to be around when the first posts are made on TBB, so I always miss out on participating. |

Well, you can still partcipate in this (next) years TBB side. It's been narrowed down to a chaos team, probably either in slaanesh or nurgle colours.

Again borrowing heavily from the TBB one, I think we should base it on a team that can pull of a lot of variation in terms of the individual minis, like Chaos, Skaven or Goblins. That way when different painting styles collide it won't look as out of place as it would on a more conventional team.
I'm currently doing a nurgle chaos team for myself, so I'd be happy to continue that theme over onto the NAF team. Then again, I've always wanted to do skaven...
One thing I think we should do, an idea shamelessly nicked from Deathwing, is make sure we paint the NAF logo somewhere onto the mini. At least the simpler logo helps with that!!
or we could do 'flings?
One idea I had - we each try to convert the fling to look like ourselves. In my case I'm 6'4" with ginger hair, so I could be a treeman with orange leaves whaddya think? I think we should try and specify a start date and an end date, sticking to them, to avoid the problems TBB had. Once we have everyone onboard someone can volunteer to look after them (preferably with a digital camera too so they can take loads of pics!)
I'll start a list of interested parties now:
Indigo
Holleran
Hox ii
SBG
Melifaxis
Grasshopper
All we need to do now is agree on a team... |

We need a few more folks on board first so that they can also have input. Then we should vote on the team, and then on the color scheme.
I don't think we should do Nurgle Chaos as that seems to be the way the TBB is going for 2004. They just did Goblins in 2003. Maybe we could get an advanced copy of the Vamps...that would rule! Anyone have any clout with GW?
EDIT:
HOLY CRAP! Ask and you shall receive. Fanatic/GW has generously agreed to send us some vamps! |

Add Grasshopper to the list please, he still is having issues accessing the Forums. |

If we are doing the vampires, then all we need to decide now is a colour scheme.
I personally reckon they'd look good in a dark cherry red, perhaps with gold trim...
we should do a random draw to see who gets to paint the lord, the thralls and the others... |

Already thought of that too. Once they arrive I will dance around with glee, randomize, and ship them out. I'm surprised we don't have more volunteers yet though... |

Add me to the "Hell, Yes!" category. Will they be the new vampires and thralls? This has the potential to be really awesome and original! |

Vampiers! Hell ya! I'm in on this one, and I'll paint whatever. Honestly, I think I'd rather stay away from the Lord, as my skills are not that good, but I'm up for a vamp or a thrall.
