do u remember the old heroquest mummy model?

i was rumaging through some old models at my parents house and found a couple of mummy models and it got the old grey matter working Shocked

i think it would look great (with a bit of work) as a blood bowl player.

the problem is that if you remember they where made attached to their square bases. How would i remove it or should i not bother?

you can probably round off the bases so they will fit on a 25 mm round base. Use a file or dremmel for the best results.

Wait a sec, weren't those Heroquest mummies plastic? If so, just trim with an X-acto blade.

Yup, they're plastic. Just trim them off and glue them to a base you like.

I've seen it done - a mate has a Khemri team with one as his "star" mummy. He can't paint for toffee, but even so it still looks great.

I've converted a few Heroquest mummies for my undead team, adding a little bit of armor to make them more Blood Bowl-ish. My brother made an entire undead team from Heroquest models. He used wax to put armor on them. It was pretty good for an 8 year old kid. We stopped playing Blood Bowl for a few years, but now that we've picked that and Heroquest up again, I've been finding one of those models in every box I open. Wierd.

Anyways... I'm done.

Could someone post a picture? I think I know the model you mean, but I'm not quite sure...

I've got a HeroQuest set that was only played once. The game is fun until you figure out the pattern to cleaning the quests out quickly and efficiently. Then the fun is gone. It was also my first taste of GW. Then Blood Bowl, then Necromunda. And I didn't have a clue what Games Workshop was!! Then I played 40K and then I began to understand...

i am still learning or should i say relearning GW stuff after a long 7-8 years out (uni, beer, work and buying house) BB is first on the list of course (praise be to nuffle) warhammer is taking time and so is necromunda so i think i will leave 40k till the next edition.

its amazing how good that mummy model is. i just cut off one arm and replaced it with a chaos warriors and it looks more like a bb player than the actual one. Just got to work my magic on the skeletons and i am cooking.

I actually just found a spare HQ mummy in the trunk of my car, if you'd like it Darkson.

My favorite HeroQuest memory was when I ran the game and convinced the Barbarian that the Wizard was malingering and should be opening the doors. The Barbarian opened a door, saw what was inside, and ran away to save his skin and get the wizard killed. It was a classic moment, but they both swore off the game after that...
