The Exiles Blood Bowl League operates in the Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Ringwood area of Dorset UK.
We do not have a club house/room and play our league matches of an evening in each other’s lounges/kitchens.

I, Lunchmoney, am the current (probably for life Smile ) league commissioner and can be contacted on various BB related forums, including our own www.exilesleague.com/phpbb3 or by email lunchmoney@exilesleague.com

The league started life as the Bournemouth Blood Bowl League of Bournemouth in 2003 based in the GW store in Bournemouth. We played in groups of 4 and the winners entered play offs to win the season title.
For 6 years we played just the one season a year, around September time, but after the end of the 2008 we were told that no more specialist games could be played in the Bournemouth store. So we Exiled ourselves and moved to the Poole GW store, where we upped the season count to 2 a year and started running the Exiles Open, a 2 day Blood Bowl tournament on the second weekend of September each year.
All this came to an end in 2012 when GW issued a companywide edict to stop all specialist games in all their stores.

To combat the problem of not having anywhere to play, the Exiles League website and forum was created with the express purpose of running the league via the forum.

Things have evolved quite a bit since our beginnings and now the league is run on a scheduled round robin system with threads in our forum for coaches to arrange a time and place to play their matches. The rounds last for 2 weeks (extensions can be allowed in certain circumstances) and if no match is played then an auto win goes to the coach who tried to make the match, or if it’s a mutual thing then the result is written in as a draw.

If anyone in the area wants to join in, then drop in to the forum and sign up. If I don’t activate your username promptly just drop me an email and I’ll get it done ASAP.
And if you want to play some Blood Bowl but not in a league that’s just fine also, plus if you want to run a team and play for progression that’s also ok as we have a Perpetual Open League as well. This is open for anyone to play anyone at any time.

Here’s a copy of our current league rules from http://www.exilesleague.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=18 :

By signing up and playing in the League you agree to these rules:

1.0 The current League Commissioner is Al, aka Lunchmoney.

2.0 We are using The Competition Rules Pack (downloadable from GW website) and the three NAF approved teams that GW didn't like (this is downloadable from the NAF 'site). Or ask me for a copy. Only these 24 teams are allowed in the Exiles Blood Bowl League.

3.0 A coach may enter any team into the regular season or knock out cups.
3.1 You may use rookie teams.
3.1a Rookie team set up is from 1M starting cash. You do not need to buy (and are not allowed to buy) any FF. You get FF5 for free. This means the full 1M can be spent on your team, RR and coaching staff.
3.2 Or you can bring back an existing Exiles League team. Remember if a player gets moved to the Hall of Fame for any reason, he is no longer on your team.
3.3 The League and Cup Champions are requested to bring back their teams for another season, but are not obliged to do so.
3.4 If a coach wishes to have one of their players inducted into the Hall Of Fame they will need to make a application to the Commissioner. The player in question should be at least Star level (4 skills) and should have a bit of fluff and background (so by extension the team should also). Or something special must have happened if the player isn't Star level, for example the same player being killed by both teams in the same game or making a record number of fumbles then getting killed. The Commissioner will then decide if the player should go into the HoF or not. Once in the HoF that player is removed from the team roster and cannot be used again - by anyone.

4.0 Each coach can now secure a sponsor for his team. This is entirely optional. The sponsor can be anything you can think of. Examples from previous years include “Festers Beer”, “Arrogance Fragrance” and “The Rumble WI”
4.1 Every match report that contains mention of your chosen sponsor will reward your team with 10,000 Crowns, payable once read by the commissioner. So if you play 8 matches and write a report for each of them, including mention of your sponsor, you will earn 80,000 Crowns.

5.0 Each team is entitled to play up to 2 "friendly" Exhibition matches before a regular season starts, so not before a KO Cup. These are optional. You are not obliged to play them and no one has to accept your challenge. All SPPs and results will be recorded (for statistical purposes) but not league points. For these matches you get the use of a free wandering apothecary each. For teams that can't normally buy or induce an apothecary, you still get one and they still work in the same way. IE a Mummy that fails to regenerate can then use the apothecary to re-roll the injury, but do remember that you need to announce the use of the apo before you roll for regen.
5.1 These matches do not count for the purposes of rule 6, play everyone once.

6.0 Each team will play each other team once.
6.1 The League now runs on a 2 week schedule basis. At the start of the season a complete draw for the entire season will be done by the League Commissioner. This will be public knowledge, shown on each weeks Game Lounge thread that will be posted with the Season starts. This is to enable arranging playing more than one match at a time. Each League round will have a two week window to have all matches played.
6.2 League rounds, and the matches scheduled, will be posted in the League Game Lounge in a thread created for arranging your matches.
6.3 However you arrange your match (email, PM, phone, yelling, or even on the thread itself), at least one of the coaches in each match up must post to the thread to show that the match has been arranged.
6.4 If you know you will not be able to play your match in the 2 week window (away on holiday for example) please let the League Commissioner and your opponent know so we can work something out.
6.5 If one coach can show he has tried to arrange a match time and has had no reply from the other, the coach who tried to arrange the match up will receive a concession win.
6.6 If one coach shows up and the other doesn’t, the attending coach will be awarded a 2-0 concession win. Under extenuating circumstances this will be waived, as long as the absent coach tries to rearrange.

7.0 Match Inducement: If you elect to buy special play cards only 3 from any one deck can be chosen. Remember you can look at them as each is drawn before deciding to choose another.
7.1 During a match if either coach requests to share dice, you must share dice. This will stop any "lucky" or "suspicious" dice arguments.
7.2 Please use the "Match Update Records" to give your results to the League Commissioner. These can then be kept to resolve any possible disputes down the line. These are available in the league resources section, or by asking the League Commissioner for some.
7.3 It is the responsibility of the coach that won the match to hand in the result and team updates to the League Commissioner. In the event of a draw decide between yourselves who will hand the result in. If this is not done the result will be recorded as a 0-0 draw and no SPPs earned once the next league round starts.

8.0 After each team has played everyone once we may hold a knock-out event. The prize, and format, to be decided by the League Commissioner near the end of the League Season.

9.0 League matches awards 3 pts for win, 1 for draw, 0 for loss

10.0 Digby's Law: In the event that someone leaves midway through the season all their matches will be changed to Exhibition and any team that had not yet played that person gets another Exhibition match added to their allowance.
