Day 1 Recap
After a day of foul-fueled Blood Bowl, the field is very crowded at the top. Three teams are undefeated with at least 2 wins. Alexander Weiss is at the top of the mountain for 3 wins and a loss but Austin Shelton and Mathew Hreljac are close behind, both with 2 wins and a tie. Particular kudos go out to Austin for rising to the top table with OGRES! Here are the point standings after day 1 (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. Tie-breakers are net TD, net CAS, total TD, and total CAS):
1. Alexander Weiss - 9 pts (3W 0L)
2. Austin Shelton - 7 pts (2W 1D)
3. Mathew Hreljac - 7 pts (2W 1D)
4. Greg Shelton - 6 pts (2W 1L)
5. Peter William Meers - 6 pts (2W 1L)
6. Ken McNeil - 5 pts (1W 2D)
7. Chris Hamm - 5 pts (1W 2D)
8. Spazz Fist - 4 pts (1W 1L 1D)
9. Grant Hortz - 4 pts (1W 1L 1D)
10. D.h. Tellez - 3 pts (1W 2L)
11. James Mak-Tubbs - (1W 2L)
12. Roderick Davidson - (1W 2L)
13. Evan McFedries - 3 pts (1W 2L)
14. Eric Rubli - 3 pts (1W 2L)
15. Season Ariens-Cyr - 0 pts (0W 3L)
16. Tim Lawson - 0 pts (0W 3L)
Most Touchdowns Top 3:
1. Spazz: 11
2. Alex: 7
3: Ken/Austin/Grant: 6
Most Casualties (Blocking) Top 3:
1. Austin: 14
2. Tim/Mat: 9
3. Season: 8
Fouling Points Standings
Now, don't let Tim's last place standing above mislead you... he is actually, per my tournament rules, deemed to be in second place because of all the fouling he is doing. I am very please to report that, as a group, the coaches above committed a grand total of 215 armour-breaking fouls on day 1 that resulted in 116 stuns, 45 KOs, and 54 casualties. Here are the fouling point standings so far:
Tim Lawson - 83
James Mak-Tubbs - 52
Evan McFedries - 47
Greg Shelton - 35
Rod Davidson - 34
Ken McNeil - 31
Season Ariens-Cyr - 28
Alex Weiss - 25
Eric Rubli - 23
Mat Hreljac - 18
Chris Hamm - 14
Grant Halitosis - 11
Spazz - 11
Dave Tellez - 4
Austin Shelton - 4
Peter Meers - 2
Not to inflate his already burgeoning ego, but Tim has a pretty strong lead so far. A good string of fouling casualties, however, could turn the tide if Tim's Norsca Vikings' kicking boots go cold tomorrow. It's worth mentioning that in game 2 Tim successfully fouled and broke armour every single turn of the game.
Game 4 Match-Ups:
Here are the match-ups for tomorrow morning. The store opens at 11:00 AM. You can start your matches as soon as you and your opponent get there:
Top Table: Alex vs. Austin
Mat vs. Pete
Greg vs. Ken
Chris vs. Spazz
Grant vs. James
Dave vs. Rod
Evan vs. Eric
Season vs. Tim

A very successful Blingtoof's Gitbash 2015 concluded today. We had the most coaches we've ever had at 16, including three that were in their first NAF tournament ever. I'd like to thank all of the coaches that attended (particularly Eric Rubli who flew in from Vancouver just to attend and decided to visit his family while he was here, anyway). Thanks, as well, to Maki Games for providing free miniatures as prizes and to Black Knight Games for hosting us for the second year in a row. Special thanks go to Evan McFedries (Astellos) for being my odd-man-out and an invaluable help over the past two days. Congratulations to all of the award winners:

CLICK HERE for full tournament point statistics exported from SCORE. The above are the "pure" tournament scores. By rule, the Best Fouler (Tim) is deemed second place.
A very noteworthy honourable mention goes to Ken for going undefeated with Halflings with 3 wins and 2 ties. An asterisk on that record, though, will cite that there was not a single Halfling on the team as Ken (wisely) took Goblins instead. Gotta love them roster rules at Blingtoof!
I have submitted tournament results to NAF and await the proverbial pushing of the finalization button.
If you haven't already, check out the Blingtoof's Gitbash Twitter feed for pictures from throughout the event:
http://www.twitter.com/blingtoof
I'm sure Alex will have his usual gallery of pictures up before too long.
Thanks, again, to all who attended and I hope to see you all back next year! |

Let us not forget chucking a Goblin at Grant's Woodie cage, and clobbering the ball carrier... because that was goddamn epic!
I can't wait for the next episode of Nufflecast...
"Remember that nice guy I interviewed after round one of Orion? Well.. fuck that Goblin flinging asshole!"
Huge props to Wappy for hosting a great event! |

Yes, that was quite the moment. I didn't want to rub it in anymore but since you brought it up I was definitely glad I was there to witness it as it happened.
Everyone's NAF rankings look to be updated already, btw. Thank you, o mystical magic button pushers! |

Thanks for another great weekend, making Blingtoof's Gitbash one of the oldest goblin-themed BB tournaments in the GTA!
Here are a few images I took.
