Some people play it that way, but it doesn't really matter as long as each player is clearly numbered. |

Heh, I retire the jersey when a player dies on many of my teams, especially if the player had been exceptinally good/bad at the time of the death. If I can. I'll add 10 to the shirt number, if not 20.
