After a successful 2016 that saw 389 teams played by 200 different coaches in 19 entered tournaments, the Great Lakes Amorical (GLAM) Tournament Series enters its second year. Based on last year, it will include the following US and Canadian tournaments in 2017:
Capital City Kick-Off (Ottawa/Gatineau, QC, January 21st + 22nd)
Ogre-hio Open (Dayton, OH, Feb 11th)
Dagger Bowl (Ottawa/Gatineau, QC, February 25th)
Chili Bowl (Cincinatti, OH, March 4th)
Stupor Bowl (Schaumburg, IL, March 25th + 26th)
Canadian Open (Toronto, ON, March 25th + 26th)
Dog Bowl (Kalamazoo, MI, April 1st)
Q'ermitt Bowl (Niagara Falls, ON, April 22nd + 23rd)
Coupe des Quatre Nations (Montreal, QC, April 22nd + 23rd)
MooseKnuckle Cup (Garden City, MI, May 27th)
Bumbus Bowl (Columbus, OH, June 17th)
Orion Cup (Toronto, ON, June 24th)
Brewhaus Bowl (Waterloo, ON, July 22nd + 23rd)
Border Princes Summer Festival (Bainsville, ON, August 5th + 6th)
Spiked Shoe [TTFKA Blingtoof's Gitbash] (Kitchener, ON, August 19th)
Chaos Cup (Palatine, IL, September 9th + 10th)
Boathouse Bowl (Niagara Falls, ON, September 23rd + 24th)
Piglet Pot (Toronto, ON, October 22nd)
Deathbowl (Gatineau, QC, October 28th + 29th)

Grey tournaments have not officially been announced yet.
Blue tournaments have been processed and results are online.

| I'd like to reiterate my suggestion that you add the Iowa and Minnesota tournaments. I know that Iowa isn't technically a Great Lake state, but they make more sense in your series than in SCARS or West Coast. |

If they like, I add them, but looking for example at the 2016 Three Die Brawl, there seems to be a larger overlap with SCARS. Besides the Both Down guys, there were only two coaches that both attended a single GLAM tournament (GenCon and Chaos Cup).
Apart from that, I added Ohio tournaments Ogre-hio, Chili Bowl and Bumbus Bowl. |

The 2017 GLAM season has successfully been kicked-off, and the first results are online on www.glamts.com.
The 2016 results are also still available there and will be conserved for future generations. |

Grats on the great start to the BB new year Stimme.
@gaixo I really dont think every tourney needs to be part of a series. not many coaches are going to make a 6 hour plus drive.
I have been traveling for BB a lot recently but very unlikely to make the trip to Iowa and Minnesota any time. |

But 8 hours to Cincinnati is likely? Iowa City is 3 hours from Chicago and 5 hours from Indianapolis (but 10 hours from Oklahoma).
I guess you can use the series how you want, but using it to reward people for going to the same tournaments they usually do seems contrary to the point. |

This is not a very fair argument. Our series covers tournaments between Chicago, Cincinnati and Montreal. From C/C to Montreal, it's more than 800 miles or a 13h drive.
For comparison: Every single Bombcast tournament except Raleigh is closer to Montreal than Chicago is. |

Well, we have some Florida tournaments this year. 
It's probably just a philosophical difference, which is (obviously) fine. I'd rather include everything and see what happens, but I understand your viewpoint. |

Chili Bowl and Canadian Open results have been entered. Dagger Bowl and Stupor Bowl outcomes will follow soon.
There are also some new and updated tournament dates. Coming up next are Dog Bowl on April 1st, and Q'ermitt Bowl and Coupe des Quatre Nations on April 22nd + 23rd. Brewhouse Bowl has been pushed back from May to July 22nd + 23rd. |

Quote: I crunched some numbers from the 2017 season. We had 226 coaches participating in 22 tournaments, playing a total of 445 teams. Out of these coaches, 150 participated in only one tournament, so there is still room for improvement!
Attached is a representation of how often a race was brought to a tournament (blue), and how it performed relatively to the others (red). Simply speaking, a value above 50% means the race was more often in the top half than the bottom half of a final tournament ranking.
Interestingly, Orcs and Skaven were much more popular than the year before (I added the 2016 graph again for comparison). At least for Orcs, this might be related to the release of the new GW minis, and an influx of new coaches. Consistently, they performed worse than other races. In line with last year, the races considered the strongest overall are not played the most, such as Wood Elves. In general, all elf teams are less popular in our series than in the NAF world overall, with Goblins and Halflings being played more often than any elf team! The same holds true for Amazons. Nevertheless, Dark, Wood and High Elves are the most successful races besides Undead. Necromantic are ranking pretty high, too, given that they are often considered second tier. Ogres once more prove that they are the worst race. Surprisingly, Humans are the second worst, followed by Halflings, Chaos and Elves. |
