Sorry for the wait Gents! Here is the long awaited 'Year of' themed rules for the 4 Dead races. Details will follow below for the coaches to choose from. For each of the Dead races a Coach may ONLY choose 1 of the 3 options available to that race.

Khemri - 1) Free Leader Reroll given to player of choice
2) Excess Undead - Choice of Skeleton or Zombie at no charge to the coach
3) Instant Resurrection - **DETAILS BELOW**

Necro - 1) Free Leader Reroll given to player of choice
2) Excess Undead - Choice of Skeleton or Zombie at no charge to the coach
3) Instant Resurrection - **DETAILS BELOW**

Undead - 1) Free Leader Reroll given to player of choice
2) Excess Undead - Choice of Skeleton or Zombie at no charge to the coach
3) Instant Resurrection - **DETAILS BELOW**

Vampire - 1) Free Leader Reroll given to player of choice
2) Iron Thrall **DETAILS BELOW**
3) Hyper Hypnotic Gaze **DETAILS BELOW**

Excess Undead - Exactly as it sounds, due to the outbreak of Undead around the stadiums preparing for the Death Bowl tournament each coach of Khemri, Necro and Undead races has the option of recruiting one of these decaying corpses to play for their team with no cost to the coach.

Instant Resurrection - In the normal rules of Blood Bowl a coach of a Dead race has the ability to 'Raise the dead' when they kill another player on the pitch. If a coach chooses the option of 'Instant Resurrection' for their team they will have the CHANCE to resurrect ANY player that is killed on the pitch for the duration of the match. This would happen through a 'roll off' with other eligible coaches that can 'raise the dead', if there are no other coaches with the option you will automatically raise that player for your team. If there are no kills during the match then this chance will not work, however it is effective for ANY kills that take place and seeing as it is Death Bowl with 4 teams on the field there is definitely more of an opportunity for death to take place.

Iron Thrall - In preparation for the upcoming Death Bowl Vampire coaches have been hard at work developing a serum for their human Thralls that may be given to 1 Thrall per half. The serum will allow the thrall to sustain 1 Vampire bite that will incapacitate the thrall temporarily but allow him to remain on the pitch prone, recovering in time for their next turn. Each coach has developed enough serum to give to 1 Thrall in each half of the game (it does not have to be the same Thrall and if the thrall has not been bitten the serum will remain effective for the duration of the game).

Hyper Hypnotic Gaze - Only the most skilled Vampires like to immerse themselves amongst so much Death but only limited Blood supply available. Some of them have been able to intensify their abilities through increasing their blood consumption of many different Elves prior to attending the tournament. As a result each Vampire coach may select 1 of their Vampires to gain this ability for the duration of the match. Each Vampire with the symptom known as HHG will have the ability of a strengthened Hypnotic Gaze taking effect on their opponents. Their gaze will affect any opponent on an agility roll of a 2+ for the game. Each Vampire team may only have a maximum of one Vampire with this heightened symptom.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the pitch!!

Just over a week to go until the Year of the Dead begins!! The new trophies have arrived and are ready to roll, they look awesome by the way! Can't wait to give them out to this year's participants. While we had a couple things that were planned fail to be available in time, what that means for all of you is more giveaways, prizes and prize support during and after the tournament...don't think I have ever heard complaints about more SWAG to go around for everyone!!

Quite the assortment, we will have what I like to call 'Highlight Reel' moments for some in game prize giveaways, our end of tournament trophies and prizes, new to Death Bowl the fastest table award each round (1 coach from each round's fastest table will win a prize), some skull games at the end of each day, and potentially some support in the form of gift certificates for the Event!

Will be a lot of fun for everyone, if you haven't signed up or notified us that you are planning on attending please let us know as soon as you can so I can pre-prep for registration and get the games started quickly on Saturday morning! See you all shortly

In the interest of speeding up Tournament registration and getting straight to the gaming action that everyone is looking for we have decided to open up a Draw for those that pre-pay for registration and send in their rosters prior to the start of the tournament. I will accept rosters and early payment up until Friday, Oct 19th at 10pm for those interested. The draw will be for a team or new field from some of the more recent Blood Bowl releases!

You can forward both your Rosters and payment through email transfer to ajones80@gmail.com, of course you can still choose to submit them the day of the tournament but you will not be eligible for the early Draw at that point.

Of course the main point in all of this is getting all of you into gaming as quickly as possible Saturday morning with the majority of registration already being taken care of. Nothing like getting things rolling on time on the 1st day of an Event!

Thanks everyone!

Rules Clarification:

Just wanted to clarify a rule that came up in question/in play for the 1st time ever last year. We will be staying with the standard rules for Blood Bowl despite the field being a different shape and more opportunity for leaving the field of play.

1) If a ball being thrown goes into the crowd: it will immediately be thrown back in by the crowd using a throw in template to determine the direction the ball will go when thrown in.

2) If a player being thrown (using the Throw team-mate skill) goes into the crowd they are immediately injured by the crowd, the same as being blocked into the crowd by another player. This does not mean where the player being thrown attempts to land, as soon as the players path goes into a square that is deemed 'the crowd' they are considered injured by the crowd.

3) In the instance where the player being thrown had the ball and goes into 'the crowd' the player will be treated as injured and the crowd will throw the ball back in using the throw in template to determine the direction the ball will go when thrown in.

In the moment last year this was ruled incorrectly as it had never come up in a previous Death Bowl tournament. Hope this helps to clarify should an instance come up again. If you have any questions, please ask.

Thanks everyone,
Adam

Have fun folks!

I was hoping to at least drop in, but we just got back from visiting the folks in the UK and we have renovations of our place starting on Monday so I have to move about 1/3 of our stuff this week to make space.

Good luck to all!

I won! Thanks to everyone for a most enjoyable weekend. Adam and Glen ran a well organized tournament and with all the swag giveaways it was exciting. Thanks to all my Death Bowl opponents and a special shout out to Manu who sat with me at table 1 through all 4 games.
Looking forward to defending my title in Montreal next year.

Big Congrats to Colin (runki_khrum) on his 1st Death Bowl win!! Not to mention with a convincing 4-0-0-0 Table win in the final round to ensure there was no doubt who was winning this tournament! Hope everyone enjoyed the highlight moment prizes throughout the games, end of game prizes for fastest table to finish and the larger swag prizes to go with the trophy presentations to end the event. We had a blast this year being our final year as Tournament Organizers for the Death Bowl Tournament!

Death Bowl heads back to where it originally started in Montreal in the fine hands of Taxal (Dan Chaput) to bring it to our next generation of Blood Bowlers. He has an enthusiasm and love for the game that will bring it new life once again in a thriving Blood Bowl community around him. We look forward to seeing what new ideas and originality you can bring to the game and have full trust that you will continue to make it the successful Event that it has been for nearly 12 years with us.

We look forward to playing in many a Death Bowl tournaments in the coming year's with our focus now being on playing in and attending as many tournaments as possible while taking a break from the Organizing side of things. We will still be around for any support needed and will be glad to help along the way but Death Bowl will now reside in the city of Montreal once again!

Much love to you all and thank you again for all of your support over the years in playing and making Death Bowl what it was for us as organizers! See you all at a tournament near you in the near future!

Glenn & Adam (twodiceblock & jrock56)
