All right lads... I need some definition help. I know that there are different levels of painting. I've seen them mentioned before on e-bay and other sites when trying to describe the level of the "professional" job done to them. So here's my deal... does anybody have a listing with explanations of the levels, and what the expectations are of said levels? I'd much appreciate an help on this... thanks.

It's all kind of subjective. One person's level 2 may be another's level 3. Most sites that offer pro painting will have listed the way they define the different levels. The following is typical but not inclusive.
Level 1 is a clean paint job in basic colors. Little to no highlighting. Bases flocked.
Level 2 will usually have highlighting/shading and be have bases flocked with a couple different types of flock like sand and static grass.
Level 3 will usually have some conversions done and a high level of detail/ shading/highlighting.
Level 4 is your 'eavy Metal job. Should win a Golden Demon. Major conversions, shading like you've never seen. realistic looking gems. Bases built up and studded with things that will complete the scene. Should be a mini diorama in itself. |
