Is it supposed to be

1. Pass
2. Interception
3. Catch

our league has changed it to

1. Interception
2. Pass
3. Catch

because several coaches burned re-rolls on the pass only to have the ball intercepted.

I think the proper sequence is....

1. Declare pass action
2. Opponent declares anyone with pass-block skill to move
3. Roll pass dice
4. If fumble then fumble the ball (or re-roll go to 3.)
5. If not fumble (accurate or not) then Opponent gets chance to nominate interceptee and rolls for interception
6. If accurate then roll for catch...
7. If caught then continue...
8. If not caught goto 13
9. If not accurate then roll for scatter (repeat 2 times)...
10. If receiver has diving catch move 1 square else goto 13.
11. If receiver under ball try to catch... else goto 13
12. If caught continue
13. If not caught then bounce the ball

Thanks...

I personnally can't find a problem with the sequence for a pass action which you have stated there.
As for the way your league has interpered the sequence I can not see how, you can try and intercept a pass before you know wether or not the thrower hasn't dropped it at their own feet.
Unless less you block the player with the ball before your own turn ends.
In the LRB on page 22 at the start of interceptions it says that your can only do an interception on a thrown ball eg (it has to be passed first )

But that's the point in intercepting... isn't it? Nobody is forced to use a team reroll... I usually use only throwers to pass... that works!

I can see how pass block might need to come before pass as you are moving in anticipation of the pass but otherwise believe it should be pass, interception, catch.

The LRB rules are pretty clear. The correct order is Interception roll, Pass Roll, Catch roll. All your league did is change it to match the LRB.

Page 22 of the LRB:
"The coach must declare that one of his players will try to
intercept before the thrower rolls to see if he is on target."
AND
"If the final modified score is less than the required total,
then the player fails to intercept the ball and the pass
can carry on as normal."

Translated to make sure ... Pass is declared, interceptor trying to do so is declared, roll for interception, success = turnover, failure = make the Pass Roll.

BEFORE anyone says this doesn't make sense. This is a game mechanic. It is delibrately in this order so that interceptions have a better chance to occur. Don't like it house rule it. The BBRC, Jervis, and Andy have made it VERY clear that this order will not be changed so crusading for such is a lost cause. Just making this clear before anyone gets great beliefs that they can fix what they perceive as an injustice.

Galak's right. The proper order is intercept, pass, catch. The ECBBL has house ruled this so intercepts come after passes because it feels much more natural.
